My Story

I saw the information just like what you read above back in August 2008 ... I got involved just to get my daughter’s church league basketball coach off my back and I didn’t do ONE thing with it...

I didn’t get my web site, didn’t get my two customers, didn’t get paid... why? ... I had a good job as a management consultant.... earning $100k+ year... I thought I had the world by the tail... until February of 2010... right before the blow out in the Gulf...work had slowed and I got laid off... thirty days before my 50th birthday... with a 17 year old high school junior ... the whole industry was in a hold mode... so I started trying to figure out what I was going to do...

So in September 2010 I called the ex-coach, Jerry Scribner, and asked him how Ignite was doing... he said it was great... and they were having the Power Surge Conference in October in Houston and were going to announce their first new expansion state in 5 years... He invited me to go with him and I said ok.

At Power Surge, I heard speaker after speaker talk about their setbacks and successes. One particular speaker, Carla Palmeira, said something that really hit me... when she said ... “you have to stop dating this business and get married to this business...” and I told myself, “if Jerry can do this business , I can do this business!”.

Total commitment to the business and my team. I had already been successful in corporate America and I knew the secret formula of achievement.

So they announced Pennsylvania ... I told Jerry I was “getting married to the business”and I was going to PA... and he asked two questions... first question was “why PA?”

As an MBA, I look for success patterns in businesses and this is what I saw... in 2005 when Ignite started in Texas they had zero associates and zero customers and zerorevenue.

In 2010, they had about 150,000 associates and and about 400,000 customers... and close to $4 billion dollars in revenue during that time period. I thought to myself, “they’re going to do this again”... I believe that history repeats itself and I want to go where it’s zero and zero.

Eventhough I learned later that the market is still huge in Texas. (11th largest energy market in the WORLD)

Jerry then asked ‘that’s great, and do you know anyone there? I said “no... but I will”... so I started networking on line through Facebook and LinkedIn and found some contacts...

Jerry had scheduled his trip to PA and sent out a team email... ‘does anyone know anyone in PA that I can talk to?

I had recently met Nancy from Pennsylvania. She had been recently laid off, was on unemployment, no job prospects, single mother of three sons and was looking for an opportunity ...

I sent her a link to our information video and she had some interest... she had been looking at another company that was product based. She asked me to take a look and tell her what I thought...

It was a health and nutrition company and I told her that I’m sure it was a good company with a good product. My experience in the past was that whenever I was involved with a a product based company I had to get on autoship to meet the monthly minimum requirements, whether I used the product or not.

And if an emergency came up and I needed that extra $100 the first thing I did was turn off the autoship. I can go a one month, two months and up-to half a year without the vitamins or nutrition drinks, BUT have you ever tried to go a few hours without electricity? It’s habitually purchased and unconsciously used every minute of the day.

She agreed. I told her she had nothing to lose.... there was going to be a lot of free training the week Jerry was in town so I told her that he was going to contact her...

She had seen the short video... he got up there... he talked to her, she said she didn’t have the money to join and Jerry asked her ‘Nancy, how does that make you feel that you don’t have $300? She replied ‘it sucks!’.... she found the money to join by holding back on the rent, she joined on November 4th 2010, got her first two customers and recovered her investment. Nancy then attended the first ever Ignite Academy in Philadelphia where she learned more about the business and how it works.

Then she did what they asked her to do and lined up an appointments to show the plan. Her first associates were a couple (The Sherwin’s) she used to work for ... they had about 12 people in their home and watched as Jerry showed the plan via a webinar... Jerry had left PA and come back to Texas... the Sherwin’s fell in love with the plan and ran with it... started having home meetings and through their growth promoted Nancy in just 7 days and causing a 1,000+ associate explosion and over 4000 retail customers in less than 10 months that we would all be getting paid on... month after month after month...

Not only has Ignite changed my life, Nancy’s life, the Sherwin’s lives but over 1,000people have hope again and are finding a way of making extra money with a life essential service that requires no employees, no products, no autoship and re-orders.
