“Pioneers of Tourism Research and Education in Turkey” is a research series that aims
to introduce the pioneers who have contributed to advancing tourism research and education in Turkey. The history starts from 1950s. Under this series, the portraits of over 35 scholars will have been included
and published in Anatolia: Journal of Tourism Research.
"Pioneers of Tourism Research and Education" aims to introduce who have made a life-long
contribution to advancing tourism and education internationally. In this series of portraits, the roots
of tourism research and education date back have to 1920s. The number of completed
portraits is expected to reach 100 in due years. All portraits are published in Anatolia: An
International Journal of Tourism & Hospitality Research.
The tourism database makes available a number of bibliographies prepared by
various scholars –particularly by Bulent Agaoglu- related to tourism research and thousands of documents (e.g. articles
and books) related to activities that are initiated by Anatolia Tourism Academy.
The bookshelf aims to introduce and remind the tourism-related books to new generations which
were published until early 1990s and bear the reference source characteristics. The bookshelf is
coordinated under the editorship of Gözde Yýlmazdoðan and with the technical support given
by Engin Bayraktaroðlu as an activity of Anatolia Tourism Academy.
