Opening Ceremony: Speakers:• His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin
Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil,
Kingdom of Bahrain
• Mohammed A. Al-Musharraf, General supervisor, Upstream Technical support Division, production and Facilities Development, saudi aramco
• Khalid A. Zainalabedin, spe Middle east Regional Director Manager, Reservoir Description and simulation Department, saudi aramco
Executive Plenary Session 1: Lift More for LessModerator:
Mohammed A. Al-Musharraf, General supervisor, Upstream Technical support Division, production and Facilities Development, saudi aramco as the industry sails through the unchartered waters of high oil production coupled with low prices, oil operators and service providers are focusing more and more on achieving that formula of lifting more for less. To succeed in that, enhancing artificial lift while at the same time improving its cost efficiency, comes to the forefront. This imperative quest is the more important when looking at the expanding trend of artificial lift implementation regionally and worldwide, where the measures taken today can affect the value to be gained in the years to come. in tackling this, this executive plenary session will look at three focus areas that will enable achieving more efficient artificial lift at a lower cost. Firstly, we will look at how game-changing technologies are making a significant impact on enhancing well production, while minimising associated costs of lifting. next, we will focus on the new ways operating companies and service providers are structuring their artificial lift business models, services, and contracts, toward more collaborative, efficient and innovative models, leading to higher value. and finally, we will discuss the developments in artificial lift maintenance and run life, through using proactive measures to prevent and delay failures through real-time monitoring and preventive maintenance, empowered by intelligent Field capabilities.
Speakers: • David Henderson, Vice Chairman, alkhorayef petroleum Company
• Zaher Ibrahim, CeO, Ge Oil & Gas (saudi arabia)
• Hisham Zubari, Deputy CeO, Tatweer petroleum Executive Plenary Session 2: Lifting Out of the BoxModerator:
Khalid Al-Sadoon, Country Manager, Ge Oil & Gas
The last twelve months or so has been a period of continuous struggle for the oil and gas community. hard decisions had to be made as the oil price hit new lows. exceptional times call for extraordinary efforts and a paradigm shift in managing the business. adoption of new technologies as well as implementation of innovative business models are paramount for our community to heighten production efficiency. Knowledge sharing of out-of-the-box artificial lift methodologies are vital for all of us to achieve this new common goal. Your participation in this session is essential to push forward the boundaries of artificial lift methods across the industry.
Speakers:• Nabeel Al Afaleg, Chief petroleum engineer, saudi aramco
• Darrell Johnson, CeO, silverwell
• David Paterson, aTl president, schlumberger
• Maksim Perelman, CeO, novomet Panel Session 1: Artificial Lift—Which Business Model?Moderators:
• Mohammed AlQassab, General Manager, Tatweer petroleum
• Cleavant Flippin, artificial lift specialist, saudi aramco The selection of artificial lift equipment is traditionally based on satisfying technical requirements to meet production targets as well as operational and maintenance advantages. Customarily, operators seek to purchase required equipment. This practice is changing as artificial lift and production engineers are increasingly taking into account the total cost of operations. This requires taking into account the life cycle cost, standard versus fit-for-purpose designs, operational and maintenance options, inventory management choices, and purchase versus lease or rent
options.
With the current price of oil, these decisions have become more important than ever and the analysis may need to be repeated, taking into account the changing conditions.
Speakers:• Fadul Abdalla Ahmed Abdalla, Vice president, GnpOC
• Hamad M. Al-Marri, sapeD Manager, saudi aramco
• Atika Bimani, esp expert, pDO
• Jorge E. Pilay, Global sales Director, Baker hughes Panel Session 2: Artificial Lift Performance ManagementModerators:
• Yanni Wahba, independent Consultant
• Syed Warsi, petroleum engineering Consultant—sapeD, saudi aramco
performance management plays an important role in achieving operational needs with less cost. This panel will address the strategy to attain best equipment performance, through an integrated process for better designs, manufacturing, equipment shipping and handling, inspection, installation, and operation surveillance. Coupling this with efficient training programmes and sharing the lessons learned between operators will lead to successful installation with minimum losses. This panel will address the importance of capitalising on teardown analysis and monitoring systems to avoid premature failures, and meanwhile, prolong the run life.
Speakers:• Waleed Al-Mulhim, Manager, production and Facilities Development Department, saudi aramco
• Ahmed Elbehery, Regional Director, Ge Oil & Gas—production solutions
• Khaled Fayoumi, Mea Marketing Manager, schlumberger
• Nathan Holland, product line Director—artificial lift, Baker hughes
