LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR HOSTSPARENT INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE At the OCDSB, our Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) seeks to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the District level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. PIC serves an integral role within the District by providing parents with the opportunity to voice their concerns, ideas and challenges while promoting further parent involvement through events such as the conference for parents and school councils.

SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVISORY COMMITTEEThe Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is a statutory committee that advises the Board on issues that affect the establishment, development and delivery of special education programs and services for students in the OCDSB. The input from SEAC helps ensure that students with special needs receive the special education programs and services to meet their needs.

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION — PARENTS REACHING OUT GRANT Ontario’s Parents Reaching Out grants encourage parent engagement at the local, regional and provincial levels. The regional grant is designed to support school boards in identifying barriers to parent engagement in their own community and to find local solutions to involve more parents in support of student achievement and well-being.
