Sub Genre

The sub genre for my trailer will be a Slasher. It will feature a psychopathic killer, who will violently kill his victims.

The victims will be three teenage girls. One of these girls will survive (Final Girl).

The antagonists weapon will be a knife, he will use this to kill two out of three girls.

My Idea

Three teenage girls walking home from a party, they don’t realize that they are being followed home. When the girls return they settle down and watch a film. They hear noises coming from upstairs and go have a look. Nothing is there one girl goes downstairs and when they hear a scream the others follow. This then leads to the stalker killing off another girl, leaving the ‘Final Girl’ Charlie to fight him off. Charlie flees from the house, with ‘The Darkness’ chasing after her. They will end up in the woods when eventually Charlie kills him.

Target Audience

The target audience will generally be aimed towards teenagers however the genre of film can be relatable to a slightly older age range. Therefore the age range will be 15-30.

Inspiration Initially my inspiration came from Nightmare on Elm Street

because I liked the killers mask/ face make up. My antagonist ‘The Darkness’ will have face make up as well, as the detail is really effective.

In the film Prom Night, a young girl gets stalked at her Prom by a murder who is obsessed with her. This is where my idea of the three girls being stalked came from.

In Scream the victims are a group of young, attractive teenagers which is where I got the idea of having three teenagers in my trailer. Also in slasher films the victims are usually a group of teenagers.

Title

My title is ‘The Chosen Ones’ because I think that it reflects the storyline of my film well. This is due to the fact that the man following the three girls has ‘chosen’ them specifically because the are young and attractive.

Antagonist & Protagonist

The antagonist goes by the name ‘The Darkness’ as his face will be covered in make up to hide his identity. However towards the end of the film his identity reveals to be the protagonist ex boyfriend seeking revenge.

The protagonist is a teenage girl called Charlie (unisex name to comply with stereotypical final girl in a Slasher).

Make Up and Clothing

I will be using lots of fake blood to make the murders seem more realistic.

The antagonists make up will have a base of white face paint. Then on top of that will be a mixture of black/brown paint to make his face look slightly dirty.

The girls will have minimal make up, but there will be lots of blood used.

The antagonist will be mainly dressed in all black, apart from the face make up.

Location

The location of my movie will take place in dark streets and underpasses for the scenes where the stalker is following the girls home.

The second location will be in a house, the girls are home alone. This is where the murders of Charlie’s two friends will take place.

The woods, where the chase ends and Charlie finally kills ‘The Darkness’ with a knife.

5 scenes in my trailer

1st Girls walking home from party, passing through dark and desolate streets.

2nd When the girls search the house when they hear strange noises.

3rd One girl disappears downstairs and the girls find her murder.

4th Second girl goes off to find phone, then Charlie finds her dead

5th The final chase between Charlie and The Darkness. Ends in the woods where the Darkness reveals his identity and Charlie kills him.
