Brodo di pollo

Oggi Ilaria mi ha cucinato il brodo di pollo.Dentro ci aveva messo anche la pastina, le patate e le carote lesse.Poi abbiamo mangiato il lesso e i dolci.

Poi abbiamo ripassato per l'esame e bevuto due volte il caffè.

Io, prima di oggi, non me la ricordo l'ultima volta che ho mangiato il brodo di pollo.

Sarà perché son tre anni che migro.E da sola non mi è mai venuto di farlo davvero, solo brodo di dado e quando torno a casa mia è sempre estate o Natale e non è momento da brodo di pollo. Nemmeno in Francia nemmeno a Pisa nemmeno qui, a Bologna.Peccato perché fa bene e mi piace il brodo di pollo.Bologna no, non mi piace.

Un po' perché dopo le 22 i signori dei locali ti costringono a bere la birra dentro ai locali e non si può uscire neanche col bicchiere di plastica, un po' perché è una città ma non è grande come io me l'aspettavo una città, un po' perché la mia padrona di casa è brutta e senz'anima e nel suo letto tutto malmesso mi fa male la schiena, un po' perché i muri della mia stanza cadono a pezzettini e la mia finestra ha la grata e non posso sporgermi e non posso saltar giù, un po' perché tante altre cose che non le so bene spiegare, ma giuro ci sono, un po' perché mi sono innamorata di un argentino che di me a sua volta non si è proprio innamorato, ma io un po' a volte pensavo di sì perché dormivamo insieme e abbiamo fatto poco e male l'amore ma

l'abbiamo fatto e ci ho fatto insieme anche tante colazioni e conversazioni e invece niente.

Io, a volte, mi sembra di non sapere perché ci sono migrata a Bologna e un po' mi viene da pensare che ho sbagliato perché non mi piace e poi subito dopo penso che penso così perché è la classica nostalgia di casa che mina tutte le fondamenta di ogni ardua e impegnativa decisione.Perché io a Bologna ci sono migrata sì per l'università, la specialistica, però anche perché io ce l'ho sempre avuta in mente questa città come una città che un giorno ci avrei abitato e mi dispiace che mi ha deluso che quasi mi dispiace a essere delusa perché mi sembra, a essere delusa, di avere a mia volta deluso Bologna, con la mia delusione nei suoi confronti. Come un amore a distanza che appena si fa carnale non è più amore, però dispiace e si è delusi e si è dispiaciuti d'essere e avere deluso.Forse a 17 anni io ho ascoltato troppo Guccini e l'università io me la immaginavo di conseguenza come una scena che mi è capitato di vivere un po' di sere fa.

Ero tornata dalle vacanze di Natale e Davide mi è venuto a trovare e ad un certo punto della serata c'era la luce bassa e io e Davide eravamo sul mio letto scomodissimo che fumavamo una canna e ascoltavamo Guccini e parlavamo così di quel che si parlava e allora io ho realizzato che ero dentro il mio ideale universitario di quando avevo 17 anni.Che io quando avevo 17 anni mi immaginavo che l'università fosse vera università in quanto comprendente di momenti quotidiani quali fumare una canna di sera ascoltando Guccini su

un piccolo letto scomodo in una casa non imbiancata e un po' umidiccia con la cucina sempre in disordine e il frigo quasi vuoto con poca luce e qualcuno accanto, d'inverno.Allora l'ho detto a Davide e lui ha riso e io ho riso e ho pensato che poi forse Bologna può avermi deluso e mi dispiace tanto se mi ha deluso però - ed è vero che io sono per mia natura o troppo pessimista o troppo ottimista in questo caso troppo ottimista -, però anche se io a Bologna non mi ci sento per niente a casa come invece mi sono sentita spesso nelle altre mie due migrazioni, forse la mia migrazione universitaria, che continuerà di nuovo il prossimo anno, doveva portarmi almeno per quest'anno a Bologna per molti motivi, un gran numero dei quali forse mi rimarranno oscuri ma uno dei quali è forse che così ho potuto vivere il mio istante universitario ideale.

Che dà comunque un bel po' di soddisfazione quando ci si rende conto di essere esattamente nel punto in cui si voleva arrivare.E non importa se a questo punto ci si voleva arrivare un po' di tempo prima, se l'istante universitario ideale era ideale per la Jessica di 17 anni e non per quella di 23 (devo indagare sul mio attuale istante universi-tario ideale tra l'altro a questo punto).Anche se la Jessica di 17 anni è una Jessica diversa da quella di 23 l'importante è che quella di 17 anni si senta ora piacevolmente sorpresa come si è sempre piacevolmente sorpresi quando qualcosa in cui non si sperava più e a cui ormai non si pensava che rarissimamente succede di colpo senza avvisaglie e in sordina.

La mia amica infatti mi dice sempre: se smetti, succede.Ma questo è un altro discorso.

Il discorso è che se la Jessica di 17 anni di colpo e piacevolmente si sente sorpresa da tanta perfetta adesione delle realtà al suo ideale, questo suo sentimento positivo influisce positivamente senza scampo sulla Jessica di 23 anni e su tutte le Jessiche future e passate.Allora forse la mia migrazione universitaria a Bologna che da subito mi era sembrata, ma proprio dalla pancia, una migrazione non-ideale quindi un po' schifosa - anche perché ho cercato questa casa per troppo tempo e poi scegliendo in fretta ho scelto male e io sto bene quando c'è in me un armonico connubio di dimora e sentimento -, questa mia migrazione anti-ideale, dicevo, non dico che di botto diventi ideale, ma magari col tempo e i brodi di pollo e la realizzazione perfetta di ideali passati e con lo scorrere incessante del movimento della vita che per fortuna, in qualità di vita, si muove e cambia tutto quel che tocca, la mia migrazione a Bologna e chissà pure la stessa Bologna diventano un po' meno schifose e un po' più piacevolmente normali.

(quite) All phenomena in human being’s life are the result of cultural and political variables. This is not completely true in everybody’s view, but this is the way I see it. There are things we cannot decide and we cannot change (and we are aware of it). This kind of things are just a few but quite important, as an example I am a white girl, I am quite healthy, I was born in Italy 24 years ago and I know I cannot do anything for or against it.There are things we think we can decide and we can change, as an example I have a partner but we don’t want a child, I am living in Italy but I would like to work abroad for some time, I am studying Political Science because I would like to work on community development field.I haven’t determined almost anything of these latter personal decisions, in other words I played a little role in the choices I took in my life …

… I have a partner, and we are not married, because it is culturally accepted since 60s more or less; we don’t want to have children now because there are no social and sometimes moral incetives incentives for it; working woman, working abroad and the self realization in personal education for a future job (while not for family or for a religious faith for example), are all concepts linked to the modern economic separation of labor, to say the least. If I were born only one century ago, anything of these would even cross my mind.The way I see migration is not far from the way I see me, and everything or everybody else on this earth: there is always a cultural and a political variable behind us, and we cannot do anything for or against it. Migration is the result of a mixture of variables linked to the culture and the politics of the

time. In this framework I would like to put into correlation two types of migrant which are far from each other in the timeline, but they share many linkages between each other.There are two men signing a contract in Tordesillas. They decided to separate the world in two zone: what belongs to one and what belongs to the other. There were the future of islands, cities and an entire continent, with their people, in that simple piece of paper. This was the first contract giving the right to a European country to dispose the rest of the world as a courtyard. It was 1500, the beginning of a huge flow of people from Europe to Africa, from Africa to America, and so on. This type of migration wasn’t temporary and this type of was quite powerful: he was soon at the top of foreign societies, he stabilize there, remaining there for centuries, until today. Politically he was there

to demonstrate his power on the European level, to develop his market, to take human and natural resources. He doesn’t speak the language, but this didn’t turn out to be a big problem, considering his gunpowder. Culturally he was there because convinced of the supremacy of their race.Some years later the arrow of the migration flow changed the direction: Europe start to be the center of immigration from Africa. The migrant has some slightly di!erent characteristics: he come from a political and economic instability, he is not abroad to demonstrate his power at home, on the contrary he is the demonstration of the weaknesses of his country in Europeans’ eyes. Sometimes he does speak the language, because he had to learn it when his country was the object of the European migration. Culturally he has to be quite adaptive, it is not admissible to impose

religion or costumes today, and the European paradigm cannot be under discussion (they taught the civilization to the all world, by the way), his permanence is regulated by others, and his existence on that territory can be considered legal or not, by the law.The first migrant is white and was born in Europe when the continent was rich, it wasn’t the richest in the world, but he developed the technologies and the cultural values functional to start what is commonly called colonization. The second migrant was on the other side of the arrow flow, he was probably black and he was born in the other coast of the Mediterranean See, and now he is a common immigrant.This is what they cannot change.

The following graphs are representing the global colonial network from 1500 to 2007. It is possible to visualize how the flows are changing, in the beginning all the movements were departing from countries like Spain, France and UK to under developed countries. With the centuries this trend changed, now is possible to see how the flows are inverted.
