WHAT IS ACCESS TEMPLE?Access Temple is a conditional admission program for talented students who meet the academic qualifications to study at Temple University, but need to improve their English Skills.

Students who receive Conditional Admission have a guaranteed place in Temple University’s undergraduate class after successfully completing Access Temple in 1 or 2 semesters.

THE ACCESS TEMPLE ADVANTAGE• Earn college credits in courses taught by Temple professors, including the First Year writing course required of all Temple

freshmen• Choose focused coursework in English for Business, STEM, or Liberal Arts & Arts• Study on Temple’s main campus with access to all university facilities, and become part of the Temple community• Receive extensive one-on-one and small group academic support, such as pronunciation coaching and tutoring• No need to retake the TOEFL or the iELTS to enter the university

REQUIREMENTS ANDPLACEMENT Grade Point Average:Minimum 3.0 GPA for Freshmen or 2.5 GPA for Transfers

TOEFL Score 74-78:1 semester of Access Temple

TOEFL Score 65-73, iELTS 5.5, PTE 46-52:1-2 semesters of Access Temple

*Placement into Access Temple 1 or 2 is determined by a writing evaluation during Orientation.Students who demonstrate strong writing skills may be placed directly into Access Temple 2, a one semester track.

TEMPLE PATH (Provisional Admission)Temple Path (Provisional Admission) is recommended for students who meet the requirements of Temple University, but who have TOEFL scores below 65 or IELTS below 5.5. Temple Path allows students to study in the Intensive English Language Program (IELP) at Temple University as a path to full admission into Temple University.

Path to University Acceptance:

• Step 1: Complete English Language coursework at Temple’s Intensive English Language Program Attend classes to improve your English language skills• Step 2: Receive Conditional Admission and enter the Access Temple program After your language skills have improved, you will enter our more advanced Access Program• Step 3: Complete the Access Temple program and automatically enter Temple University as a full-time student. You will not have to reapply or retake the TOEFL or IELTS.

The length of these programs is determined by the student’s English level at the time of enrollment but typicallytakes a year or more to complete.
