a picture of the topic or follows the
contours of a shape that is suggested
by the topic.
Word picture: Picture drawn using
descriptive words about an object or
idea that the picture represents

what you are used to?
Rules of writing poems • 1.) Choose what you want to write
about• 2.)Choose shape• 3.) Make a list of some good
descriptive words for the poem. (Using the five senses)• 4.) Use the descriptive words to
make poem in the shape you chose.
