Summary

• TxDOT has many miles of PCC pavement that

already exceeded or are approaching design lives.

• Concrete overlays could provide a cost-effective

rehabilitation method.

• Overall, the performance of concrete overlays in

Texas has been quite satisfactory, with some

exceptions.

• Efforts are underway to further improve PCC

overlay design/construction practices.
