CONCLUSION
Liquefaction are process that cause the strength and stiffness of soil decrease by earth
shaking. It only occur in saturated soil, which is commonly area that are near river, lakes, bays,
and the oceans. The choice of ground improvement technique depends on geological formation
of the soil, soil characteristics, cost, availability of backfill material and experience in the past.
Because of this phenomenon, we had analyses the possibilities of situation on every method
work. As the analyses is done, we decided and conclude for the best method that can change,
safe the properties and might also act as one of the precaution and help reduce the problem.
Within this method we can save much more. In the preloading and vertical drain process,
its help in increasing the shear strength. Preloading generally refers to the process of
compressing the soil under applied vertical stress prior to construction and placement of the final
construction load while vertical drain involves process of installing drain into the ground using a
machine. Vertical drains are used to increase the rate of consolidation, delivering substantial
programmed savings for the build times of earth embankments for many types of land raising
schemes. Besides, process involves surcharge load that help in settlement which cause by the
consolidation of soil.
Using sand also bring good method in this situation which is sand will the increase the
rate of settlement of soil. Sand also can be a good drainage beside can used as a good bonding
between the soils. Coarse aggregate used in this method is to increase shear strength of the soil.
So the soil will be more stable. In this method of study. We combined al the possible method that
can reduce an increase all the situation prevention if it occur. But still the are many existing
options can successfully accelerate the consolidation of soils.
