for Students in Grades Three through Five.

Concerts for Youth/Link Up 2021-2022

★Carnegie Hall currently partners with 115 orchestras and works with over half a million students and teachers across the United States and around the world.

Concerts For Youth/Link Up ★ 1,926 students registered for the 2021/22 concert.★ 18th year in Omaha.★ Learning Goals for This Experience:○ Teach students fundamental music concepts through

listening and performing.○ Foster existing and new relationships between

symphony orchestras and the schools they serve.○ Expose students to the symphony orchestra and

concert hall in their community.

When are the concerts?★ March 1, 2022 @ 1:00pm★ March 2, 2022 @ 9:45am & 11:15am★ March 3, 2022 @ 9:45am & 11:15am★ March 4, 2022 @ 9:45am

What is new?★ This is a combined concert with shared

curricular goals. ★ Dr. Ewing with GPBHM will participate in the

concert.★ Exhibits in the lobbies on concert day.

Materials★ The Omaha Symphony will provide recorders for those schools

indicating a supply support request.★ Recorders are now property of the school rather than the

student.★ Carnegie Hall has moved to digital resources for students..

Educators can request a paper teacher guide. ★ The Omaha Symphony creates an easily printed PDF

workbook for students.

Number Confirmations★ Anyone requesting supplies must approve numbers by

Thursday, September 30, 2021.★ We will confirm numbers and participation style in

January.★ If you are requesting supplies, please verify your

numbers with Nicole either at the end of the meeting or via email [email protected]

When do we get requested materials?

★ If you requested materials, most of those will be received by Halloween.

○ If you do not receive your materials by Monday, November 8th, please contact the Omaha Symphony Education Staff.

○ Do not pay any invoice from Peripole.

★ NOTE: Books and recorders will arrive separately!

★ One winning student composition will be orchestrated and performed at all of the Link Up concerts in Omaha!

★ This year, the piece will be arranged for jazz combo rather than for recorder.

1. Copy one card/box into each box in your A row.Be sure to put 4 beats into each box!2. Choose a note name for each box from these:

3. Play your rhythm on the pitches you chose. Change anything you don't like.
