iongeo.com PROGRAM OVERVIEW NamibiaSPAN™ is designed to evaluate the current shelf and deepwater area offshore West Africa and provide insight into hydrocarbon exploration of the margin from a regional perspective. The program comprises over 10,000 km and images the basin architecture, defines the limits of the various basins along the Namibian margin, and identifies potential petroleum systems in the region. The survey integrates available offshore well data to calibrate key stratigraphic horizons regionally, placing this part of the area in a larger (continental) framework. Additionally, this dataset will be interpreted within the broader context of the conjugate margin of Brazil using recently acquired BasinSPAN™ data from South America. This unique dataset allows geoscientists to evaluate both sides of the basin as it evolved and make predictions as to future potential. NamibiaSPAN, in conjunction with existing and planned surveys in adjacent countries, will provide a contiguous dataset spanning approximately 6,000 km from Mossel Bay to Nigeria. As illustrated by recent farm-in activity and the accelerated pace of drilling, Namibia is becoming an important exploration province, attracting oil companies worldwide. NamibiaSPAN

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

NamibiaSPAN™ is designed to evaluate the current shelf and deepwater area offshore West Africa and provide insight into

hydrocarbon exploration of the margin from a regional perspective. The program comprises over 10,000 km and images the

basin architecture, defines the limits of the various basins along the Namibian margin, and identifies potential petroleum

systems in the region.

The survey integrates available offshore well data to calibrate key stratigraphic horizons regionally, placing this part of the area

in a larger (continental) framework. Additionally, this dataset will be interpreted within the broader context of the conjugate

margin of Brazil using recently acquired BasinSPAN™ data from South America. This unique dataset allows geoscientists to

evaluate both sides of the basin as it evolved and make predictions as to future potential.

NamibiaSPAN, in conjunction with existing and planned surveys in adjacent countries, will provide a contiguous dataset

spanning approximately 6,000 km from Mossel Bay to Nigeria. As illustrated by recent farm-in activity and the accelerated

pace of drilling, Namibia is becoming an important exploration province, attracting oil companies worldwide.

ABOUT BasinSPAN™BasinSPAN surveys are geologically inspired, basin-scale seismic data programs acquired and depth-imaged using the most advanced geological and geophysical processing tools available. They provide upstream companies with the ability to evaluate the geologic evolution, deep basin architecture and depositional and structural histories of entire petroleum systems in a region. Our global 2D BasinSPAN library consists of data from virtually all major offshore petroleum provinces providing asset managers significant risk mitigation as they develop exploration and appraisal programs with greater confidence.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

→ Provide understanding of the entire West African Margin

→ Image the continental margin from 20 meters to beyond continental to oceanic crust boundary out to 3500 - 4000 meter

water depths

→ Define crustal limits of major basins

→ Tie existing wells into the regional framework including ODP and DSDP

→ Understand the limits of the known petroleum systems

→ Explore possible sediments below seaward dipping reflectors

→ Identify new play ideas

KEY COMPONENTS

→ Data acquisition using 10,000 meter offsets and 18 second record length

→ More than 10,000 km of new depth migrated data

→ Establishes a foundation for crustal understanding of the margin

→ Critical part of the conjugate margins study in Latin America to identify potential new play ideas

→ Ensures delivery of superior insight into the geologic evolution of the area while improving understanding of source kitchens
