The Mixed Media concept combines the superior distribution properties of crossflow media with the reduced potential for clogging of vertical flow media, to give consistant and efficient biological wastewater treatment. Mixed Media is ideal for use in the modern trickling filter that is designed for (4.8) or more of media depth. This configuration improves the mixing, hydraulics, surface area, ventilation, and physical strength of the media beyond that of either crossflow or vertical flow media. Excellent distribution of wastewater over the surface of the filter due to the crossflow media In the top two layers. Additional structural integrity due to the use of Vertical flow media. Reduced potential for excessive biomass buildup due to increased shearing in vertical layers. Cross Flow MediaCross Flow Media is specifically designed for biological fixed film systems. Cross Flow Media provides a cost effective method for reduction of organics (roughing and polishing), nitrification, and anaerobic treatment of municipal and industrial wastewaters.

Vertical Flow MediaVertical Flow Media feature vertical channels with large openings that produce the higher water velocities necessary to create an anti fouling environment in the fill, to help improve water distribution and thermal mixing.

for maximum water velocity.
