Course Objective:
This course is an introduction to various practical methods for effectively incorporating instructional technologies into teaching and learning activities. This course also addresses the utilization of technology in education to increase teacher productivity, research and collection of instructional materials to use in your classroom.

Week #3 Homework (complete both assignments)
1) Find a lesson plan on the Internet and adapt it for your classroom.
2) Find an internet resource, describe how it supports your curriculum, develop a lesson plan using that resource (using Microsoft Word) … going on the assumption that you have sufficient computer resources in your classroom.
Week # 4 Preparing your Showcase Project
Obtain approval of final project from instructor.
Project should be something that adds to your knowledge of computers and their use in the teaching and learning process.
Project should be something that “could be” used in your classroom.

Final Project - Description
Purpose The purpose of this project is to take a lesson
plan from your curriculum and demonstrate how you would use computer resources in your school to support that lesson plan. [Note: if your school does not have computer resources, assume that you have at least one computer in your classroom for the purpose of this project.]
Final Project Procedure
Select a lesson you would teach at your school Identify ways you can incorporate the use of a computer or other
electronic resources into this lesson Re-write the lesson plan to incorporate the computer or electronic
resource Create an example of how you will incorporate the computer into
your lesson that you can demonstrate electronically. This may include part of the presentation you will give, a prototype student work, or a PowerPoint or web page presentation on your plans.
Present your work at the Showcase on Tuesday, July 29, 6:00-9:00 pm.
Final Project Products
The results of your project will be: A lesson plan in a Word document that has been modified to include
the use of computer resources (6 points) A collection of any resources you will need (2 points – show to your
course instructor that you have them either on paper or on your flash drive)
The example from part 4 of the “Procedure” section (8 points) A presentation on your work at the Showcase (4 points) All items are due at the Showcase.
