Switzerland

Switzerland is a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps , the Swiss Plateau and the Jura , spanning an area of 41,285 km2. While the Alps occupy the greater part of the territory, the Swiss population of approximately 8 million people is concentrated mostly on the Plateau, where the largest cities are to be found..

The flag of SwissThe flag on Switzerland consists of a red

flag with a white cross (aa bold, equilateral cross) in the centre. It is one of only two square sovereign-state flags, the other being the flag of the Vatican City. (The civil and state ensign, used by Swiss ships and boats, has more the more common proportions of 2:3.)

Tourism

Tourism begins with British mountaineers climbing the main peaks of the Berness Alps in the early 19th century Reconvalescence in the Alpine climate, in particular from Tuberculosis, is another important branch of tourism in the 19th and early 20th centuries for example in Davos, Graubunden.

Sports

In Switzerland, most of the people have a regular sportactivity and one of four is an active member of a sports club. The most important all-embracing organisations for sports in Switzerland are the Federal Office of Sport, and the Swiss Olympic Committee. Major sport events in Switzerland include the Olympic Games, which were held two times in St.Moritzin Winter 1928and Winter 1948, and, more recently, the UEFA Euro 2012.

The alphorn or alpenhorn or alpine horn is a labrophone, consisting of a natural wooden horn of conical bore , having a wooden cup-shaped mouthpiece, used by mountain dwellers in Switzerland and elsewhere. Similar wooden horns were used for communication in most mountainous regions of Europe, from French Switzerland to the Carpathians.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of Switzerland shows the same white Greek cross as the flag of Switzerland, but on a red shield. The appearance of the coat of arms or shield varies greatly, but the federal resolution of 12 December 1889 on the coat of arms decrees that the four arms have equal lengths, in a ratio to their width of , and includes a drawing of the coat of arms.

Images of the Swiss

Beauty of Switzerland

Switzerland is the most beautiful country on earth being a peace of heaven, quite and peaceful. If you want piece of mind, a green and pleasant place for the whole family, there is no other destination to be considered.

Lifestyle of Switzerland

Switzerland, divided between the Alps, Jura and the Central Plateau is one of the richest countries in the world with the 3rd highest quality of life. The landscape of Switzerland extends across the north and south sides of the Alps providing a great diversity of climates and landscapes.

Dress code of Switzerland

The Swiss can be remarkably casual in their dress, save for the highest-ranking management. Also, people have been known to sport tasteless ties (lilac or gray) with watercolor suits (green or burgundy are a common sight among middle management). Several banks recently banned white socks with business suits in their dress code.

Food of Swiss

There are a many regional dishes in Switzerland. One example is Zürcher Geschnetzeltes -thin strips of veal with mushroomsin a cream sauce served with rösti.

Weather of Switzerland

Season

The season

The seasons are clearly defined. In spring (March to May) the trees blossom and the meadows become green. In summer the temperature rises to 25-30 degrees (77-86 degrees Fahrenheit). In autumn (September to November) the fruits ripen, then the leaves turn brown and fall. In winter the snow changes the landscape."It snows and snows, whatever the heavens can let fall, and they let it fall in considerable amounts. It does not stop, there is no beginning and no end. There is no longer any sky, everywhere there is a gray, white snow. There is no longer any air, even that is full of snow.
