SUBDIVISIONS; CHAPTER 152,ZONING CODE; CHAPTER 154,SIGN REGULATIONS; AND THECARVER COUNTY ZONING MAPINCLUDING TRANSITIONAREAS, ROADCLASSIFICATIONS AND THEFLOODPLAIN AND SHORELANDOVERLAY DISTRICTS.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVENthat on Tuesday, the 25th day ofJanuary, 2011, as soon as possibleafter 9:15 a.m. upstairs in the SocialServices wing, in theCommissioner’s Meeting Room ofthe Carver County GovernmentCenter, Chaska, Minnesota, theCarver County Board ofCommissioners will hold a publichearing to consider adoption of anordinance amending the CarverCounty Code, and the Zoning Mapincluding Transition Areas, RoadClassifications, and the Floodplainand Shoreland Overlay Districts.
PROPOSED CHANGES:Ordinance 70-2010 would amend theCounty Code Chapters pertainingto Subdivisions, Zoning, SignRegulations, and the Official ZoningMap for the unincorporated areasof the County. A significant portionof the amendments are intended toupdate the Zoning Code and ZoningMap to correspond with theapproved 2030 Comprehensive Plan.There are also a number of textchanges and reorganized sections.The proposed amendments include,but may not be limited to:simplifying or removing landdedication and park feerequirements; requirements forfinancial guarantees; clarifyingminor subdivision procedures;updating zoning districts and maps;updating the Floodplain andShoreland Overlay Districtboundaries and sections based onMN/DNR review and approval;addressing non-conforming usesand structures; adding or revisingdefinitions; reducing some bluffsetbacks; adding wind energyconversion and other renewableenergy system standards; allowingfor the transfer of buildingeligibilities to non-adjacent parcelsbased on township approval;addressing “pick your own”roadside stands and similaroperations; moving the temporarymanufactured homes and mining -land reclamation sections to a newInterim Use Permit (IUP) section;adding a new ConservationIncentive section as an additionaldensity option; adding a sectionproviding for agricultural uses witha retail component; updatingTransition Area Overlay Districtsand standards; updating roadclassifications; and reducing the500’ setback requirement(s) forsigns near intersections.

Beginning on Jan. 24, ap-plications will be accepted for vacancies on the Senior Advi-sory Board for the upcoming term, beginning in April 2011. The Senior Advisory Board meets on a monthly basis and serves as an advisory board, making recommendations to the Senior Center Coordinator and Park and Recreation De-partment on matters relating to social, recreation and education programs and services at the Chanhassen Senior Center. OPEN SWIM PROGRAM AT AMERICINN — The Chan-hassen Senior Center along with AmericInn of Chanhas-sen is offering an Open Swim opportunity for area seniors. The AmericInn pool ranges from 3-5 feet deep. All seniors will also have access to the heated hot tub/whirlpool, and sauna. Towels are provided. Cost is $24 for a 12 session punch card. Punch cards need to be purchased at the Senior Center before attending Open Swim.
