People Speak   COMPUDON 2011 – The biggest Microsoft Office Championship, held for the first time in India, proved to be just the right platform for the Indian students to show their skills when it came to this most widely used software suite – Microsoft Office. Right from the beginning, Team COMPUDON has worked with the belief that they’re taking a step forward for the betterment of the digital literacy scenario in the country, by encouraging the young guns to show their IT talent; and this belief was confirmed when the auditorium at PHD Chambers, New Delhi was filled with happy faces on 6th of June, 2011. Parents, teachers, students and dignitaries – every single member of the audience present lauded the motive behind and the efforts put in this massive competition. Ms. Manju Khosla, Vice Principal, Step By Step High School, Jaipur was very happy with the tournament. “The competition helps make a student learn something beyond what is taught in the classrooms, and our school will happily support this cause in the future as well,” she said. With one of her students scoring a perfect score in the competition, she had only glowing recommendations to give for this competition. Mrs. Anju Sharma, mother of the young Tript Sharma studying in standard 8 at Maharaja Agrasen Public School, was extremely content with the way the championship shaped up. “Tript is one of those kids who spend most of their time on the computer. I’m glad that because of this event, he got to learn and do something constructive.” While she was a little disappointed with Tript not winning the coveted trophy, she looked forward to the next championship, hoping he brings home the trophy. Not only the mentors and guides, but the participants themselves are awaiting COMPUDON 2012 eagerly. Aswathy S Pillai and Yogita Rana came all the way from BSSS College, Bhopal to attend the award ceremony. Though they did not qualify in the final level, their spirits were not marred. They were glad they got a chance to expand their skill set and compete for the National Championship.
