8 Migration
8.1 Migrating from Compleo 3.6 to Compleo Suite 7
Running the Migration Utility Program
Save the configuration directory C:\Program Files\Symtrax\Compleo Supervisor 3\Config
before migrating and do not uninstall Compleo supervisor 3.6.
The CfgConverter.exe is located in the directory you chose to Install Compleo Suite 7.
NOTE: If you had chosen the default location, then you will find the file in
C:\Program Files\Symtrax\Compleo Suite\
When you double click on CfgConverter.exe, the configuration converter screen will appear.
The Configuration converter (Migration Utility program) will automatically find your
Compleo 3.6 configuration files and convert them into a Compleo Suite 7 compatible
format.
NOTE: Only the output devices (System I’s Output Q’s) that are Active (Play) or in
Scheduled state will be successfully migrated. The repositories in any other state will not
be migrated to Compleo Suite 7 compatible format.
Important:
Before starting the migration, stop Compleo Supervisor and Administrator 3.6 and Compleo
Supervisor 7.
Once the Migration is successful, you will see a message to confirm this.
You have successfully converted your Compleo 3.6 configuration files to Compleo Suite 7
format. You can now use Compleo Suite 7 with your Compleo 3.6 configuration.
After migration, the Output Q’s will no longer be active in Compleo supervisor 3.6. If you
do not wish to migrate an Output Q, change the status of the Output Q’s in Compleo
Supervisor 3.6 to “pause”.
Important
Migrating a configuration that uses Network Drive Path
While migrating Compleo 3.6 configuration to Compleo Suite 7, if you have a scenario that
uses files stored in a mapped drive, after conversion, it will not work as it should because
Supervisor 6 is a Service and this is a normal behavior for Services. You need to manually
replace the path of the mapped drive and put a UNC path instead of the drive. It will work
if Supervisor is in Interactive mode.
For example: If you run supervisor as a service and If your configuration uses a
scenario or files that have a path to the mapped drive like Z:\Shared Folder, this will not
work after conversion. You have to replace this path by \\Server Name\Shared Folder
for it to work with Compleo Suite 7.
NOTE: It is not possible to call Macros, in word, present in any template or .dot file using
Compleo Suite 7.
Compleo Suite – Installation Guide Page 42 of 72
Migrating Favorites from Compleo 3.6 to Compleo Suite 7
You also have a utility program that will help you convert your favorites section in Compleo
3.6 to a compatible format in Compleo Suite 7.
To do this, double click on FavoriteConverter.exe located in the same directory as
CfgConverter.exe.
NOTE: You have to run the FavoriteConverter.exe from each profile whose favorites you
want to convert to Compleo Suite 7 compatible format. By default, it converts the favorites
of the profile you are have logged on with.
The Favorite converter utility will automatically find your Compleo 3.6 favorite files and
convert them into a Compleo Suite 7 compatible format.
Compleo Suite – Installation Guide Page 43 of 72
8.2 Migrating from Compleo 4 to Compleo Suite 7
If you had chosen the default location to install Compleo Suite 4, then you will find the
config file in C:\ProgramData\Symtrax\Compleo Suite\Config.
Save the configuration of Compleo Suite 4 and uninstall Compleo Suite 4. Now, install
Compleo Suite 7 on the same machine.
The configuration of the previous version will automatically appear when you open Compleo
Supervisor 7.
If you want to use the database mode of Compleo Suite 7, refer to section 3.2 Configuring
Database mode of Compleo Suite 7.
Note: You can also export the configuration of Compleo Supervisor 4. This .ccf file can also
be used by Compleo Supervisor 7, when installed on a fresh machine.
8.3 Migrating from Compleo 5 or higher
If you had chosen the default location to install Compleo Suite 5 or higher, then you will
find the config file in C:\ProgramData\Symtrax\Compleo Suite\Config.
Save the configuration of Compleo Suite 5 or higher and uninstall Compleo Suite 5 or
higher. Now, install Compleo Suite 7 on the same machine.
The configuration of the previous version will automatically appear when you open Compleo
Supervisor 7.
If you want to use the database mode of Compleo Suite 7, refer to section 3.2 Configuring
Database mode of Compleo Suite 7.
NOTE: You can also export the configuration of Compleo Supervisor 5 or higher. This .ccf
file can also be used by Compleo Supervisor 7, when installed on a fresh machine.

2.2 SAP CONFIGURATION FOR BC-XOM CONNECTOR
First you need configure BC-XOM connection on the SAP system and then configure the
RFC server in Compleo Supervisor. Perform the following steps on SAP system to setup a
BCXOM connection, using an external RFC server.
2.2.1 Setup of a new RFC destination: Declaration on an RFC server
In SAP system, enter transaction SM59. The Configuration of RFC Connections window
appears. Click button and fill the RFC destination parameters as shown:
Activation Type: Chose Registered Server Program.
Compleo Suite – Installation Guide Page 52 of 72
Program ID: The Program ID is like a password, so it can be user specific. This parameter
is used to uniquely identify the RFC server on the SAP Gateway. Thus two different SAP
systems with identical program IDs, can connect to the same Supervisor. To connect a SAP
system to multiple Supervisors each RFC server definition should have unique Program ID.
SAP Recommendation to define Program ID: ‘MACHINENAME.OPERATION’ (e.g.
COMPLEOHOST.BCXOM_SERVER).
Start Type of External Program: Chose Default Gateway value.
CPI-C Timeout: Chose Default Gateway Value.
Gateway Host: Enter the name of the SAP system that will host your Gateway.
Gateway Service: Enter the name of the Gateway service that you want to use to
communicate with Compleo.
Gateway: This parameter is a communication junction for the SAP system and Compleo
RFC server. Compleo registers itself on the SAP Gateway to receive the SAP request. In
the RFC Server definition, enter this SAP gateway. When multiple SAP systems are
connected to a given Supervisor, every system must share the same Gateway Host and
service, for the requests to reach Compleo.
Tips: Generally all SAP systems have the ‘sapgw00’ gateway installed by default. But the
SAP Administrator can install a new SAP Gateway to use with BC-XOM, especially when
high loads are expected.
Click MDMP & Unicode tab. Select Unicode option. This option is available only in Unicode
compatible SAP systems.
Click button to save the settings. Ongoing back to the previous screen, the new RFC
destination will appear in the TCP/IP connections list.
