10. SINGARAJA - She is four from forty but on a long losing sequence so others preferred

Summary (6) FAST CHARLIE has as good a chance as any and maybe better than most in this closing contest. That statement is based on the gelding earning a couple of second place finishes this season and a victory on penultimate start at Pornichet. This looks ideal. 14. ATHENA DES RAVAUX - Hardy sort on a good day. Goes unshod behind on comeback and given her liking for Laval will be easy to back

15. VINDALOO - Useful type but is shod for second start since the break and can be passed over

16. VIKING FROMENTRO - Mixes the good with the less good and with shoes on this time can be left alone

Summary After two re-entry runs (12) BLUES DES LANDIERS put in an excellent effort when second to Charmeuse Royale at Vincennes recently and in similar form can trot off with the silverware. (10) UN CHER AMI raced better last time than the result suggests and with Nivard in charge should make a bigger impact this time. (11) UNIVALDI D'AVAL showed a different side to himself at Tours mid-month and looks in with a reasonable shout. Summary Winner of her only appearance at the venue and benefitting from a good entry the in-form (12) CRISTAL DU LUPIN looks thoroughly capable of winning this. (10) CABERNET finished a place behind him at Maure last week and with shoes off for the occasion can again apply the pressure. (9) CAPELLA DE VRIE is confirmed in this class of race and can be backed with confidence despite being sanctioned last time out. (13) CLASSIC GLORY is in her category here and after reassuring at Le Mans will have her supporters.

5. FAKIR DE JANZE - Left a very good impression on debut in the race of reference and should again figure prominently

6. FIGOLU FRAZEEN - Modest individual so far but makes his first start for the Guarato powerhouse and should not be underestimated

7. FLASH VALMONT - Serious colt that would have finished second last time had he not faulted and on better behaviour should have a good hand to play

8. FAMOUS DREAM - Has done nothing but progress. Not the luckiest when third to (14) FORTO DEO earlier in the month and could well lose his maiden tag this time

9. FAST BONNEVENT - Complicated type that reassured over shorter here last time but still not the easiest to trust

10. FOLGOET ROSE - Has placed just once from six to date and appears to have his work cut out

11. FABULEUX DESTIN - Has looked a decent sort so far. Did not have the best of luck in running last time and should give a good account

12. FANFAN STUART - Useful colt that returns to harness racing after a decent effort under the saddle but no more than a minor place chance

13. FLAMBEUR DU DIGEON - Imposed first time out early March. Lost his action next time but is still good enough to go close if applied

14. FORTO DEO - Won courageously on debut here three weeks ago and is not incapable of repeating

Summary (14) FORTO DEO won bravely over course and distance earlier this month and if applied will have a realistic chance of doubling his money. (8) FAMOUS DREAM finished third to him that day but had he been afforded a run he could have well have won. (5) FAKIR DE JANZE finished a valiant runner-up on that occasion on

what was a very professional career debut. The regular (7) FLASH VALMONT would have trotted second at Mauquenchy early April had he stayed in stride and can redeem himself here.

Race 7 1. CORELIE DU GOUTIER - Very disappointing since returning from an enforced layoff and offers no hope

2. CAGNOISE D'AGON - Has displayed very good aptitude for the specialty but no more than a minor place chance here

3. DELPHES D'ARIANE - Surprise third at 89-1 here late last month. Hind shoes off this time and one to note

4. DIABOLIC QUEEN - Respectable mare with form at this level but must improve on latest effort behind (3) DELPHES D'ARIANE

5. DIVINE DE L'ITON - Has been in cracking form of late with two straight wins and could well pull off the hat-trick

6. COMETE DE GLATIGNE - Has done nothing of note for some time and can be confidently ruled out

7. DOMINO THIEBEN - Serious sort in this branch of the game but stays shod and no threat

8. CLEENA DRYME - Mixes the good with the less good but unplaced in last ten ridden events and unlikely to spring any surprises

9. CHECK POINT CHARLY - Solid of late. Backs up four days after suffering interference but with a better trip can play a leading role

10. CERISE D'AIMPE - Winner of two of her last three and latterly set her personal best. Place chance

11. COEUR D'HAVAROCHE - Very hard to fault of late. Is barefoot again and should be able to trot into the money

12. DARK FLY - Excellent last year after switching codes. Made a fine comeback under harness and should play a major role

13. CASTELLANE PHEDO - Handy mare but has not been seen out for over two months and will need the race

14. DIVA D'IROISE - Completely out of the picture for the past 14 months and can be written off

Summary Since returning to ridden competition this year (5) DIVINE DE L'ITON has won two on the trot. She has never disappointed at Laval and looks the pick of the field. (12) DARK FLY boasts an excellent record in the discipline and after a fine re-entry under harness should be able to give her a run for her money. (9) CHECK POINT CHARLY won a brace before suffering interference last time and

with better luck should figure prominently. (3) DELPHES D'ARIANE sprang a surprise when trotting third here late March and with hind shoes off this time should give another decent account.

2. BERENICE DU LOISIR - Gave a respectable account in the professional ranks on comeback. Has had time to freshen up and from the front line will have her chances

3. BINIOU DU BEUVRON - Springs the occasional surprise but out of the picture in last two and will pose no danger

4. ATTRAPE MOI ALDO - Is proven in the amateur category but did not do enough to convince on re-entry early April

5. AQUILES DE LEXLOR - Average type making his first appearance since November and will have nothing to give

6. ATARA - Pulled off quite the coup to beat (15) VALBERT DE WALDAM eight days ago but stays shod this time and a minor place chance at best

7. ATOUT D'HAUFOR - Back at the top of his game. Finished a place behind (15) VALBERT DE WALDAM at Pont-Chateau and can again go close

8. AMIRAL DU PRE - A complete write-off for the past 18 months and not a realistic proposition

9. VIVANO DE KEVDY - Has demonstrated good consistency of late. Pleased last time here and will generate some interest

10. BIJOU D'AURE - Hardy sort that showed improvement at Cherbourg last time and although incurring the penalty still looks a player

11. BELLO DE CELINIERE - Useful sort dropping in class after two re-entry runs. Has a good amateur in the sulky and must be respected

12. ALIENOR DE ROCHE - Ended last season on a low note and has picked up this season where she left off

13. AMAZONE DES BOIS - Struggled with form last year and unplaced in both this term. No threat

14. AIGLE DU PORT - Unremarkable trotter but finished 6th in the race of reference and could get a look in

15. VALBERT DE WALDAM - Superb campaigner at this level. Surprisingly beaten by (6) ATARA last time but should exact revenge and win this

16. APODIS CHAMP BLANC - Has ability and drops in class but with shoes on is unlikely to shake things up

Summary

After a string of 13 consecutive successes (15) VALBERT DE WALDAM finished runner-up in his last two but has an excellent opportunity to return to winning ways here at the expense of 62-1 shot (6) ATARA who had his measure last time out. The reinvigorated (7) ATOUT D'HAUFOR finished a good third that day and once again looks competitively well in. (11) BELLO DE CELINIERE has two races in him this term and with a good amateur at the helm could well make the frame. (10) BIJOU D'AURE reassured connections at Cherbourg earlier in the month and will have his chances.
