The Model 337 is constructed with a rugged, light-weight and corrosion-resistant all-aluminum cab. Doors tightly seal to the cab, eliminating leaks and minimizing outside noise. The hood is made of durable Metton® which is lightweight and highly impact resistant. The cooling system is protected by the stainless steel grille and surround, which also contribute to the Model 337’s distinctive Peterbilt styling. The lightweight features of the Model 337 help maximize payloads without sacrifi cing strength and durability.

The Model 337 offers the only all-aluminum cab in the industry.
The all-aluminum cab is both corrosion resistant and lightweight – yet with a durable, rugged design that can take on even severe-duty applications.
Lap seam construction keeps the cab leak-resistant and reduces repair time and cost if damaged parts need to be replaced.
Bulkhead-style doors create a secure seal while improving safety and cab strength.
The Model 337 is a versatile performer and that includes the cab which can be spec’d in an extended confi guration for a morespacious operating environment and extra storage capacity.

The hood is one of the styling features that makes the Model 337 unmistak-ably a Peterbilt. But beyond its contemporary look, the hood optimizesvisibility and aerodynamic performance.
The hood is constructed of Metton, a lightweight but extremely durablematerial that can help minimize damage from impacts and road debris. Additionally, headlights are protected by tough Lexan lenses that are impact resistant. Together, these durable materials help minimize service needs and downtime versus competitive designs.
The 337’s superior forward lighting is achieved through Peterbilt’s exclusive complex refl ector headlamp design that provides exceptional coverage and down-road visibility. Service requirements are also minimized as lampadjustment or bulb replacement can be done with common tools.
Peterbilt’s durable Metton hood is designed to withstand damage that might crack or shatter competitors’ SMC hood designs. Based on
mechanical properties the impact energy of Metton is almost 3 times greater than SMC. The replacement cost for a competitors’ SMC hood
can be as much as $5,100.

Signature Peterbilt styling includes the Model 337’s chromed crown, stamped-oval grille and three bar design.
The chromed crown is as tough as it is stylish with durability that farexceeds competitive plastic designs.
The best-in-class grille is constructed of high-strength stainless steel that provides exceptional protection to the cooling system, also greatly outperforming competitive plastic grilles.
Constructed from a single piece of steel with no seams or fasteners, the 337’s bumper features outstanding strength and protection.
The 337’s set-back front axle confi guration accommodates thebumper’s swept-back design that enhances both styling and protection.
Three bumper designs are available – painted, chrome and stainless steel clad aluminum – to meet every customer preference or job requirement.

The Model 337’s hood opens a full 90 degrees to give service technicians ample access to perform common maintenance.
Enhanced serviceability was a priority in designing the engine compartment. For instance, commonly accessed fluid receptacles are located on the driver’s side of the vehicle – the cooler side of the engine – providingtechnicians with easy visibility and access to check fluid levels and replenish when necessary.
Electrical connections are organized, easy to reach and covered to protect them from contamination and provide exceptional reliability. Fluid Check Location

Aerodynamically styled side mirrors are mounted to the cab with three points of contact, minimizingvibrations and maximizing stability.
Compared to some competitive designs that have door-mounted mirrors, the Model 337’s cab-mounted mirrors mean less wear and tear on the mirrors’electrical system that can become strained through repeated door opening and closing over the years.
Stationary mirrors maintain consistent rearwardvisibility for improved safety during ingressand egress.

The Model 337’s strong, aluminum doors have a double sealing system that ensures a tight closure and minimizes noise and air from entering the cab.
Peterbilt’s classic piano-style hinges evenly distribute door load over a large area to provide a lifetime of worry-free operation. The 3/8” stainless steel hinge pins ensure the Model 337’s doors can take on the loads generated during ingress and egress with ease. Additionally, hinges will stay rust free throughout the life of the vehicle.
The industry standard for ingress and egress is to maintain 3-points of con-tact. The Peterbilt Model 337 is the only Medium Duty truck standard with inside and outside grab handles for three points of contact.
The door opening is 18% larger than the competition, making the Model 337 the easiest truck to get into and out of in the industry for improved safety.

Ease of entry and egress is facilitated by staircase-style steps and grab handles mounted to the A-pillar and B-pillar. Compared to competitive designs with narrow, ladder-like steps and only one grab handle, the Model 337 reduces operator fatigue and enhances safety. It also reduces stress on the steering wheel and door pocket, which drivers commonly use as handles to compensate for having only one grab handle with competitive designs.
The Peterbilt fi rst step is 2 inches lower to the ground compared to the competition.
Evenly spaced steps make climbing into a truck more comfortable and consistent. The Peterbilt Model 337 steps are ergonomically spaced 0.1 inches difference from step to step.
Peterbilt’s staircase-style, self-cleaning, slip-resistant steps are ergonomically designed to better protect from slips, trips and falls. The ladder-style of the competitors’ steps makes it more diffi cult to fi nd steady foot placement when exiting a vehicle. Slip, trip and fall
claims can cost a company more than $6,000 per incident.

The Model 337 chassis is strong and durable, exceeding all on-highway and medium duty durability tests. The three-piece, gusseted, heavy duty crossmembers are robust and provide for a stiffer frame which reduces noise and improves ride comfort.
The Model 337 can be confi gured with either a 108˝ BBC or 110˝ BBC.
Safety leadership is extended by offering front disc brakes andelectronic stability control.
The PACCAR PX-7 engine is built with heavy-duty features like repli-cable wet liners, roller cam followers, bypass oil fi ltration and targeted piston-cooling.
The PACCAR PX-7 is designed for a low cost of operation andmaximized uptime for medium-duty customers.
Peterbilt’s 120,000 psi high-strength frame rails are designed to outlast the competitors’ 80,000 psi rails with all body installations.
The Model 337’s 3-piece, heavy-duty, gusseted crossmember can outlast competitive designs, with higher tensile strength over their stamped web crossmembers.
