REPORT ON RESEARCH PROPOSAL WRITING COMPETITION

A Research proposal writing workshop was organised by Seva Mandal Education Society's, Smt.

Sunanda Pravin Gambhirchand College of Nursing in collaboration with Trained Nurses

Association of India, Maharashtra State Branch on 19h March 2021. There were total 20 group Tegistration (2 students per group) from nursing colleges all over Maharashtra from various courses (GNM, P.BBSc Nursing, B.Sc Nursing, and M.Sc. Nursing). The programme was

overali co-ordinated by Ms lejasvi Pavaskar, Ms. Sona Somasundaran and Ms. Greeshma

Minesh. The programme was conducted online via google meet.

The programme began with welcome address by Mrs. Prachi

Dharap (TNAI Secretary, Maharashtra State branch) wherein madam appreciated Mrs. Shilpa Shettigar (Incharge Principal,

Smt.Sunanda Pravin Gambhirchand college of Nursing) and the programme co-ordinators for organizing this event Madam also appreciated all the participants for their

enthusiasm and zeal in participating in such research

competitions which would help them in improving their

knowledge in nursing research.

A session on 'How to write a research proposal' was taken by

Dr. Pinaki Wani (Associáte Professor, Department of Physiology, and

KJ Somaiyya Medical College). Madam discussed about formulating a research problem, developing hypothesis, conducting literature

review and preparing methodology..

There was a discussion conducted after the session, the doubts and queries of the participants were cleared by Madam Pinaki .Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Greeshma Minesh.

The Research proposal writing competition began by 12:15 pm.The competition was hosted by Ms.Sona Somasundaran. Instructions were given to the participants regarding the competitions .The topics given for the competition were as follows: 1.GNM students: Impact of online education on school children 2. Basic BSc /P.B.BSc Nursing students: Influence of stress on work behavior among nurses

3.MSc Nursing Students: Knowledge, Accessibility and use of Infomation, Communication and

Technology among nursing teachers

The participants were given 2hrs time to complete writing the research proposal. Throughout the

competition the participants were asked to keep their videos on for continuous supervision by the

REPORT ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY WORKSHOP

Research methodology workshop was conducted in Seva Mandal Education Society's Smt. Sunanda Pravin Gambhirchand College of Nursing in Collaboration with Trained Nurses Association of India Maharashtra State Branch on 26h February 2020. Workshop started with registration process at 9am.189 participants registered for this workshop from all over Nursing colleges in Mumbai including students and faculty. REPORT ON RESEARCH METHoDOLOGY WRITING COMPETITION

Research methodology writing competition was conducted in Seva Mandal Education Society's College of Nursing on 16th October 2019 Competition started with registration process at 8am.43 participants registered for this competition from all over Nursing colleges in Mumbai. 8 GNM students, 16 Basic BSC students and 19 MSC students registered for this competition. Refreshments were provided to the participants. The Chief guest Mrs.Surekha Sawant President TNAI,MSB arrived at 9.30.followed by inaugural ceremony.Mrs. Jyotsna Pandit HOD , Mrs.Anjali Katdare, Principal, Mrs.Shilpa Shettigar, Mrs.Delphina Gurav,Associate Professor, Ms.Nikhita Bhonsale,Lecturer,Ms.Sayali Fernandes, Ciinicai Instructor were present for the inaugural ceremony. Mrs.Diana Fernandes hosted the inaugural ceremony. Lamp lighting was done by all the dignitaries. Then Chief guest Mrs. Surekha Sawant was requested to address the gathering followed by Mrs. Jyotsna Pandit and Mrs.Anjali Katdare who addressed the gathering as well.Later Mrs.Nikhita Bhonsale briefed the participants what they were expected to prepare in the research synopsis and abstract. Later Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.Diana Fermandes. Participants were given group number and their topic for proposal in the form of the chit.

All participants were asked to proceed to the Computer lab where they were allotted with their respective computers. Competition started at

10.30.am.Participants enthusiastically started working on their synopsis. Competition went on smoothly without any problems and ended at 12.30.pm. Two hours time was given to the participants for the synopsis and abstract preparation. Aii participants were asked to maii their synopsis and abstract both

in word file and pdf file to the given mail id for evaluation. After the end of the competition all participants were instructed that the result will be declared within one weck period and will be communicated to their respective colleges.Participants were also instructed to attend the rescarch methodology seminar which will be held in the month of December where winners of the competitionwill be awarded with the trophy and the certificate. Competition ended with valedictory function. All the participants were satisfied and appreciated the organizing committee for arranging this competition. The programme ended at

1.30.pm.

BASIC WORKSHOP IN RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

10th JANUARY TO 12th JANUARY 2018

A Basic Workshop in Research Methodology was conducted at Seva Mandal Education

Society's College of Nursing in collaboration with MET,MUHS,Regional Centre, Pune which was approved by Maharashta University of Health Sciences.NA shikvide letter no.

MUHS/IMETTT/145/2017. The total number of participants was 22.

DAY-FIRST

REGISTRATION

On the first day of Workshop(10h January,2018) the participats were asked to fill in the

registration forms for registration and they were given registration kit (Folder, notepad ,pen, program schedule, all handouts of session,evaluation forms).All the partio breakfast by 9.30.am.After breakfast participants solved the pretest and forms were collected

At 10 am Dr.Swapnali Kadam commenced the session on Introduction to Research

methodology. The session was very lively and the resource person interactive with appropriate illustartions. Then Mrs. Vrushali Kulkarni took over the session on Study designs: Descriptive,Case-control and Experimental. Tea was served during the session.

After the end of the session participants proceeded for lunch. Post lunch group activity was taken

Day two began with group activity by Dr.Rajiv Gude on literature search. After that Dr.Raji Gude continued with session on Sampling methods and sample size.Tea was served during the session. This session was followed by a group activity were participants were asked to discuss tpic of research and which sampling method can be applied to their study and how they will calculate sample size for the same.After this session lunch break was given. Post lunch Dr.Rajiv Gude continued with the next session on inferential statistics. After this session Dr.Rajiv Gude and Dr.Pinaki Wani took a group activity were participants were asked to discusS and decide how they ill apply inferential statistis to their studies which were discusses in previous group activities. Next session on questionnaire designing was taken by Dr.Pinaki Wani. After this session tea was served. Followed by last session of Dr.Pinaki Wani on writing a research protocol.

DAY-THREE

Day three began with session on Qualitative Research methods by Dr.Kanchan Rao Singh. Followed by session on Ethical Issues in Medical Research by Dr. Sandeep Bavdekar. Tea

continued by Dr. Sandeep Bavdekar. This session was followed by Lunch. Post Lunch group

activity was conducted were one research article was given to participants and were asked to

critically evaluate and discuss with group. Next session on Evaluation of a diagnostic test was

taken by Dr.Rajan Nerurkar.Last session on Computer assistance in Data Analysis Excel and EPI

Info was taken by Dr.Rajan Nerurkar. Posttest forms were collected from the participants.
