ved: Adobe Platinum Partner.

3. Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP)
4. Transactional Licensing Program (TLP)
1. Value Incentive Plan (VIP)
Acrobat’s Value Incentive Plan is a subscription-based
licensing program for Acrobat and creative Adobe pro-
ducts. Enterprises, educational as well as government
institutions can participate in this program.
Program Overview
• Flexible subscription model
• For enterprises, education, government institutions
• Low initial costs, no minimum orders
• Flexible provision of additional licenses as required
• Price advantages with VIP Select and 3-Year-Commit
• Continuous, easily renewable program participation
• Instant access to up-to-date features independent
from upgrade cycles
• Simple licensing administration with the administra-
tion console
Products
With Adobe© Creative Cloud all apps, desktop applica-
tions, services and features are united. This enables your
team to work at its best, while being cost-efficient and
making financial planning as simple as possible.
Every team member will receive up to 100GB of cloud
storage space. Data can be forwarded, feedback can be
obtained and all activity around your creative projects
can be monitored centrally. Another advantage: with in-
tuitive administrative tools coordinating Creative Cloud
licenses flexibly as well as centrally becomes as easy as
it gets.
The Acrobat and Creative Cloud licenses are offered as
either Team Licenses or Enterprise Licenses. Within the
creative licenses you can choose between the complete
bundle “All Apps” or a single creative license “Single
App”.
Advantages
1. Easy registration and software download – Re-
gistration is simple and can be done through Adobe
partners such as COMPAREX. After successful registrati-
on you can instantly access all Adobe products that are
included in your VIP. If you choose the Enterprise Licenses
you will have access to your chosen products right after
the order is processed.
Low entry costs – Participating in the VIP does not in-
clude a minimum order: customers can order as many
licenses as necessary. Moreover, this helps you to stay in
control even when the number of licenses is growing: all
subscriptions have the same anniversary date.

Administration and Compliance made easy – With
the administration console and the enterprise dashboard
everything is done centrally: provision of Adobe products
as well as monitoring of subscribed licenses and attribu-
tion of licenses.
2. Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA)
It is a 3 year agreement with COMPAREX as reseller and
Adobe®. ETLAs are tailor-made for customers who hold
a large number of licenses for the vendor’s products and
seek unified licensing for the entire enterprise. According
to a fixed number of licenses an annual payment amount
that applies for the whole 3 years will be decided.
A fixed price for 3 years is guaranteed and therefore en-
sures budget planning security. Moreover, access to new
technologies and innovations is provided. According to
the application area users can install and update pro-
ducts. This also includes an increased flexibility when ad-
apting and extending the license portfolio.
Acrobat’s Value Incentive Plan is a subscription-based
licensing program for Acrobat and creative Adobe pro-
ducts. Enterprises, educational as well as government in-
stitutions can participate in this program. ETLA elevates
all products to a unified version by offering license admi-
nistration with a standardized SKU per product. This also
enables cost-saving for the order process. The subscrip-
tion fee includes Adobe® support as well as support for
implementing licenses and trainings.
Crucial financial advantages of ETLA
• No asset activation needed
• High flexibility
• Lower investment volume with a tightened structure
and lower capital commitment
• Investment can be adapted after contract termination
• Number of licenses is adaptable (e.g. in case of sel-
ling or liquidating subsidiaries)
• No risk of underlicensing during agreement duration
• Reduction / elimination of necessary IT controlling process
• Reduction of the entire IT administration effort
• Improved planning security for IT costs
This concept supports customers with worldwide busi-
nesses. However, the decision whether an ETLA is to be
concluded lies solely with Adobe.
3. Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP)
The two-year membership program CLP offers signifi-
cant savings on volume purchases of Adobe licenses for
medium to large companies. Within the program the
customer receives points for each qualified order, with
which he can reach a higher discount level. One point
is equivalent to approximately one US Dollar. The points
can be accumulated. The discount levels are the following:
4. Transactional Licensing Program (TLP)
Adobe’s TLP program is ideal for small and medium-si-
zed organizations such as businesses, educational in-
stitutions and government agencies and provides dis-
counts even for smaller orders. Customers are not
bound to any contracts or required to place additio-
nal orders. There is no minimum order size within TLP.

serve® UDP Archiving is a purpose-built email archiving
solution designed to protect corporate email records and
make them easily accessible for audits and legal disco-
very. It is a multi-tenant capable solution that supports
on premise, private and public cloud deployments.

plier analyses your IT infrastructure as a whole and starts

6. UDP Archiving
1. Managed Capacity Pricing (MCP)
Arcserve’s MCP program is designed for large customers
with complex IT environments and high demanding re-
quirements. The capacity-based license program enables
customers to deploy all components anywhere within
their environment with one single license only. Within
MCP the customer agrees in advance on a certain ter-
abyte capacity that is to be secured. Thus, license ma-
nagement can be drastically simplified and the strategy
for data back up can be adapted frequently. The licen-
sing is effected without graduation of prices from the
first terabyte of the data volume that is to be secured.
Four versions of this program are available, each of
which are aligned to the recovery requirements: Arcserve
UDP Premium, maximum tolerable data loss, and Arc-
serve UDP Premium Plus, maximum tolerable downtime:
1. Arcserve UDP Standard
• includes file server protection and basic tape support
2. Arcserve UDP Advanced
• includes all UDP components, application support
and basic tape support
3. Arcserve UDP Premium
• includes Arcserve Backup, Arcserve UDP, Virtual
Standby and Arcserve Replication
4. Arcserve UDP Premium Plus
• includes all components of Arcserve UDP Premium
and High Availability
2. Per Socket Licensing
Per socket licensing is perfect for companies of all sizes
with virtual and / or physical environments. The program
includes several products, each addressing different
needs of your business. You can combine the following
products: Arcserve Backup, Arcserve UDP, Arcserve Repli-
cation and Arcserve High Availabilty.
The licenses are available as new license, competitive
upgrades and prior version upgrades. The perpetual
license can be purchased with 1 or 3 years maintenance
and support.
The following suites are available:
• Arcserve UDP Standard
• Arcserve UDP Advanced
• Arcserve UDP Premium
• Arcserve UDP Premium Plus
• Arcserve UDP for Workstation

4. Licensing Programs
For all kinds of licensing Arcserve offers discounts to bu-
sinesses (Open License Program) and non-profit orga-
nizations (Government License Program). With these
programs companies and organizations can obtain Arc-
serve products for the best possible price.
5. Backup Appliance
The UDP 8000 Backup Appliances are suitable for com-
panies of any size, including several subsidiaries, with
virtual or / and physical environments. Currently, the
hardware appliances can be purchased in 4 different mo-
dels which distinguish themselves by their source data
volume (1 to 240 TB). Backup Appliance contains all fun-
ctions of Arcserve UDP Advanced, no additionally socket
or server licenses are necessary.
Backup Appliance can be purchased with 1 or 3 years
of maintenance and support. Thereby you can choose
between Gold, Platinum or Platinum Plus Support.
6. UDP Archiving
Licensing is based on the number of mailboxes. Perpetu-
al licensing or subscriptions are available. Perpetual licen-
ses are available in packets of 50, 100 or 500 mailboxes
and can be purchased with 1 or 3 years of maintenance.
Subscriptions are available as 1 year subscription or 3
year subscription. Import of historical emails is licensed
once per GB.
Licenses can be purchased as custom-made Per Socket
License for installation in virtual and physical environ-
ments. Arcserve UDP is licensed per active CPU Socket
on protected source machines (for both physical machi-
nes or hypervisors). Physical machines can also be licen-
sed per Server OS Instance. Workstations are licensed
per protected workstations.
3. Component Based Licensing
Component Based Licensing is ideal for small and me-
dium-sized companies. With this program all versions,
components, agents and options of arcserve can be
licensed that are necessary for customers to secure data
in their environment. Additional components can be
installed whenever the environment’s configuration ch-
anges or the requirements increase. This way, adequate
security is guaranteed.
Arcserve offers the following component versions:
• Arcserve Backup
• Arcserve Agents & Options
• Arcserve Replication
• Arcserve High Availability

1. Volume Purchase Accounts (VPAs)
Volume Purchase Accounts enable Attachmate custo-
mers to purchase licenses cost-efficiently. Starting with
an order volume of 10 Users licenses can be purchased
as VPAs instead of single packages. These licenses will
then be collected in a VPA contract. The respective dis-
count level is determined by the number of points ga-
thered with the initial order. This discount level is valid
for one year unless it is surpassed by a larger purchase.

COMPAREX Licensing Pilot Factsheet Autodesk
Autodesk is a pioneer in 3D design, engineering, and
digital entertainment software. Since introducing its Au-
toCAD software in 1982, the company has grown to of-
fer one of the broadest portfolios of 3D computer-aided
design (CAD) software on the market. AutoCAD and
Revit software is primarily used by architects, engineers,
and structural designers to design, draft, and model buil-
dings and other structures. Maya is a 3D animation soft-
ware used in film visual effects and game development.
Autodesk 360 provides cloud-based tools and services,
plus mobile apps for smartphones and tablets that can
be used by professionals, amateur designers, and stu-
dents. As authorized Autodesk Gold Partner, COMPA-
REX is able to support its customers with procurement,
licensing and product recommendation.
Content:1. Autodesk Licensing
2. Autodesk Industry Collections
1. Autodesk Licensing
Autodesk does not offer volume licensing. However,
when purchasing Autodesk software you can choose
between different licensing models.
Single User – Perpetual License
The software is linked to one device and can be instal-
led only once.
Multi-User – Perpetual Network License
When opening, the license will be released from the
server.
Usage of Citrix Licenses
There is no differentiation between network and Citrix
licenses. Therefore network licenses can be installed di-
rectly on the server. A big advantage is the central instal-
lation – there is no local installation needed. But it requi-
res a Citrix application (not included). The performance
relies on the network performance.
Subscription
The change from the perpetual to subscription licensing
model is completed now after a two-year-period. With
the purchase of a new license you may now choose bet-
ween a monthly, quarterly, annual or up to a three-year
usage period. Moreover, you can select a single user or
multi user licensing. Both can be installed on various de-
vices, but with different usage rights.
During the subscription period you benefit from Basic
Support (Websupport and Communities) or Advanced
Support with additional phone calls.
In addition, Autodesk provides its users with Cloud Ser-
vices and Storage (25 GB per seat).
Subscription licenses can be transferred to another user
but not switched to a perpetual license.

Maintenance Plan for Perpetual Licenses
Autodesk customers are allowed to renew their existing
maintenance plan. The maintenance plan includes the
following services (basic version):
• Free of charge software upgrades during the agree-
ment’s life span (Please note: updates are available
within the maintenance subscription only)
• Home use license
• Right of downgrading
• Global travel rights
• Technical web support
• Autodesk® 360 cloud services
• Telephone support is incl. in the Advanced Support
A maintenance renewal is available as one year contract.
During renewal period you can also switch from Main-
tenance Plan to subscription at almost the same price.
2. Autodesk Industry Collections
The Autodesk Industry Collections are better than ever.
Due to simplification of the Autodesk product diversi-
ty, the suites turned into the Autodesk Industry Collec-
tions. There are three options to choose instead of more
than 20. Good to know: If you use two or more single
products it is suggested to rather use a collection. The
price-performance ratio couldn‘t be better.

1. Passport Advantage
The licensing program Passport Advantage by IBM is de-
signed for larger enterprises that may have multiple sites.
Additional locations or sites anywhere in the world can
enroll under the same agreement. The program enables
customers to purchase IBM software by certain discount
levels, which are assigned by the order amount or the
sum of transactions within a certain time frame. All or-
ders come with a software license including subscription
and support. The maintenance term is 12 months, which
defines the respective anniversary, to which all orders are
aligned.
To take part in the Passport Advantage Program, the re-
gistration form for the International Passport Advantage
Agreement (IPAA) must be completed. IPAA contracts
are unlimited, which means that all terms and conditions
are valid until one contract partner withdraws from the
contract.
The initial order has to be for at least 500 points and
defines the customer’s RSVP (relationship volume price)
level. Further order quantities are not limited.
2. Passport Advantage Express (PAE)
The licensing program Passport Advantage Express has
been designed to meet the needs of small and medi-
um-sized businesses. Each transaction is processed indi-
vidually.
However, customers have to sign a new agreement for
each site and are not able, unlike in the case of other
IBM agreements, to access one agreement for more than
one subsidiary. For all IBM licensing programs subscripti-
on and support are included.

In contrast to Passport Advantage there is only one dis-
count level available for Passport Advantage Express,
which is the Passport Advantage level BL (less than 500
points).
Software licenses, software subscription as well as sup-
port purchases cannot be accumulated. Each of them
has its own anniversary day.
3. Passport Advantage for Educational Institu-
tions
The Passport Advantage program provides schools, uni-
versities and public organizations with special offers that
have been especially designed to meet their needs. All
software purchases are assigned to one price level (ED),
which is independent of the order amount. Neither an
order minimum is required nor is an accumulation of the
points or a new assignment of the RSVP (relationship vo-
lume price) level possible.
The special offer for educational institutions and public
services is part of the Passport Advantage program. It is
an unlimited contract and includes software subscription
and support for each purchased license, which will be
adapted to the anniversary. Thus, the customer will have
only one maintenance end date.

1. Perpetual Plus
McAfee’s Perpetual Plus program targets customers who
prefer licensing for an unlimited time. It is complemen-
ted by extendable annual contracts for technical support.
Perpetual licenses require a corresponding agreement
with technical support in order to receive authorization
for software-related services. Companies and organiza-
tions of all sizes can obtain discounts on McAfee products
with this program. The pricing is determined according
to nodes, meaning the number of intelligent devices that
are operated by the customer. A higher number of nodes
therefore means higher discounts. When re-ordering the
discount level is determined by the number of already
purchased licenses of a product.

2. Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs for Medium to
Large Businesses with more than 250 Desktop PCs
3. Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs for Educational
Institutions
4. Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs for Service
Providers
5. Microsoft Cloud Services Offer
Microsoft offers its customers a large number of diffe-
rent volume licensing programs and is thus able to provi-
de them with flexibility in license purchasing and volume
discounts. Which program is the most suitable for the
customer depends on the size and type of business or
organization.
1. Volume Licensing Programs for Small & Medi-
um Businesses with less than 250 Desktop PCs
1.1 Open License
The Microsoft Open License Program is intended for
customers who only want to purchase a small amount
of software licenses. After an initial minimum order of 5
licenses the customers are able to order licenses at any
time during a 2-year term. The program is ideal for
customers who prefer the transactional model; an im-
portant option in a growing business with ever changing
requirements.
There are two different price level available within Open
License, Open NL and Open C that are assigned to dif-
ferent product pools. The product pools in combination
with a point system determine different price levels for
customers.
• Open NL starting from 5 licenses, mixture of all pro-
duct categories allowed
• Open C starting from 500 point entrance level per
product group
Licenses can be purchased with or without Software As-
surance.
1.2 Open Value
Microsoft Open Value is a volume licensing program for
small and medium businesses with at least 5 PCs, who
are looking for cost-effective and flexible ways to license
Microsoft software under one central agreement. It’s
recommended to choose the agreement option Open
Value non-Company-wide if the software is only inten-
ded for single PCs and not for the whole company. This
program only offers the price level NL. Even with weak
equity position, customers can stay flexible thanks to
long-term price stability. Costs for purchasing License &
Software Assurance will be spread over a span of three
years. Continuous payment over these three years will
result in unlimited usage rights of the software license.

1.3 Open Value Subscription
Open Value Subscription is the subscription option wi-
thin the Open Value Program. Thus, Microsoft offers
small and medium businesses a flexible and cost-effecti-
ve way to license Microsoft technologies under one cen-
tral agreement. The customer may increase or decrease
the number of licenses on each agreement anniversary.
However, software licenses for Enterprise Products have
to be purchased company-wide (standardization). Even
with little own equity, customers can stay flexible thanks
to price stability. Costs for purchasing licenses and Soft-
ware Assurance will be spread over a span of three years.

2. Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs for Medium to Large Businesses with more than 250 Desktop PCs
2.1 Microsoft Products and Services Agreements
(MPSA) Transactional
The MPSA delivers greater value from your licensed assets,
more flexible purchasing and simplified asset manage-
ment through an improved agreement structure, new
purchasing platform and modernized systems and tools.
The MPSA is the foundational agreement that consolida-
tes all applicable terms and conditions that are found in
the current Microsoft Business and Services Agreement
as well as Select Plus Agreement and the Microsoft On-
line Services purchasing terms and conditions.
Features include:
• A single agreement provides integrated purchasing
for on-premises and Online Services*, offering a
single way to acquire your license and software asset
portfolio.
*Please note: Azure is no longer available through MPSA
• Supports multiple organizational types enabling
all lines of business to purchase through the same
agreement structure for improved tracking and ma-
nagement of assets
• The MPSA is a perpetual contract and the master
agreement does not expire.
Different price levels are tiered due to a minimum num-
ber of points, which is determined by the product pool
and the licensing model.
Depending on the purchased volume different price le-
vels can be reached. They have to be defined separately
for each of the three product pools.
Price Level Minimum Number of Points
A 500
B 4,000
C 10,000
D 25,000
The price level is flexible and will be adjusted automati-
cally when the volume has reached a higher level.
Easily Manage Your Assets with Purchasing Acounts
A Purchasing Account is any unit within your organiz-
ation that needs the ability to independently purchase
Microsoft software. Each Purchasing Account is associa-
ted to your organization’s MPSA.
All product and Online Services purchases under all
Purchasing Accounts are associated to your MPSA and
are automatically consolidated to receive the best volu-
me discount based on the purchase volume, per pool
and account, across your entire organization.
Improved Systems and Tools
The Microsoft Business Center has an intuitive, easy to
use interface so you can view and manage your pro-
ducts and services assets across your entire organization,
quickly and accurately. Enhanced self-service online tools
give you better management capabilities by making it
easier for you to access all the information you need
about your agreement through a single online portal.

2.2 Select Plus
Select Plus customers can choose to migrate to the
Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA) and
maintain their current Select Plus price level. Excluding
India and China, where MPSA is not available and Select
Plus still can be offered.
Microsoft Select Plus is most suited for large organiz-
ations with multiple interconnected subsidiaries that
purchase their software licenses individually but want to
use the advantages as a whole company. The connected
companies profit from a central agreement which ga-
thers worldwide software purchases for the definition of
a price level.
Furthermore, Microsoft will do a compliance check once
a year to see whether the minimum requirements of the
established price level are still met.
2.3 Enterprise Agreement (EA)
The Microsoft Enterprise Agreement aims at large-sca-
le enterprises who want to standardize their licenses
company-wide and want to retain the possibility to add
software licenses and Online Services at the same time.
The term of the agreement is three years. All software
licenses are offered together with Software Assurance.
Price levels are dependent on the number of qualified
desktops or users in the company:
Enterprise Agreement Enrollment
When signing the agreement, the customer has to de-
fine the number of qualified desktops or users and the
desired Microsoft Enterprise products or Enterprise On-
line Services to Microsoft.
This information represents (True Up order) for additional
qualified desktops or users the initial purchase. Each an-
niversary, a collective order is due on the basis of which
the cost for the previous year will be calculated.
In the framework of a traditional on-premise Microsoft
Enterprise Agreement the customer is allowed to license
Enterprise products individually or as a standard platform.
At least one Enterprise product has to be standardized
throughout the whole company. Enterprise products are:
• Office Professional Plus
• Windows Enterprise
• Core CAL and/or Enterprise CAL Suite
Alternatively, the customer can sign a pure Enterprise On-
line Services agreement with Microsoft. This option does
not require company-wide standardization of Enterprise
Online Services. The customer has to purchase 500*
Enterprise Online Services licenses as a minimum. Either
the Microsoft 365 E3 (M365) as a complete Desktop So-
lution or at least one of its components:
• Office Enterprise Plan E1; E3; E5
• Enterprise Mobility + Security E3
• Microsoft Intune

COMPAREX Licensing Pilot Factsheet Microsoft
Enterprise Agreement Subscription (EAS)
An Enterprise Agreement Subscription is also based on
the EA and offers the possibility to lease on-premise
licenses instead of purchasing them. This might provide
customers with fiscal advantages. The price levels are the
same as those of the traditional EA. They depend on the
number of qualified desktops or users in a company:
In a three year term agreement, the number of qualified
desktops and users can beadjusted on every agreement
anniversary. This allows more flexibility in adjusting toch-
anging requirements. Rights of use are limited and ter-
minate with the end of the agreement term. Afterwards,
the customer has the following options:
A Sign a new agreement
B Buyout of licenses
C De-installation of software and proof of destruction
of data storage devices
Like in the case of the EA, the customer has the possi-
bility to license Enterprise products individually or as a
standard platform. At least one Enterprise product has
to be standardized company-wide. Enterprise products
are:
• Office Professional Plus
• Windows Enterprise
• Core CAL and/or Enterprise CAL Suite
All software licenses are offered together with Software Assurance.
2.4 Enrollment for Dedicated Online Services (EDOS)
The EDOS program is ideal for large companies and go-
vernment organizations with more than 5,000 users.
In the framework of an EA customers can subscribe to
Microsoft Online Services such as Microsoft Exchange,
SharePoint and Skype for Business. Services do not have
to be licensed company-wide but may be booked addi-
tionally for each user. The customer is licensing the stan-
dard or enterprise edition of every service.
The EDOS term is three years and is bound by an EA. In
the program, there are different volume rebates in the
form of three different price levels that are dependent on
the number of users:
Price Level Number of Users
B 5,000 – 5,999
C 6,000 – 14,999
D 15,000 and more
Software Assurance is contained in the program.
2.5 Server and Cloud Enrollment (SCE)
Microsoft’s SCE program is a licensing program for stan-
dardizing Microsoft server products while offering to
combine these with online services.
SCE offers 4 components: Core Infrastructure, Applica-
tion Platform, Developer Platform and Microsoft Azure.
Within these programs price advantages towards the
Enterprise Agreement are possible. When opting for one
of the first three components customers receive access
to Microsoft Azure at the best terms.
• SQL Server: for core-based editions at least 50 co-
res are necessary. Server/CAL editions require a mini-
mum of 250 CALs and 5 servers.
• BizTalk Server: at least 5 processor licenses
• Visual Studio: Visual Studio Enterprise and MSDN
Platforms
Price Level Number of Qualified Desktops / Users
A 500* – 2,399
B 2,400 – 5,999
C 6,000 – 14,999
D 15,000 and more
* Minimum number changed from 250 to 500 as of July 1, 2016.

COMPAREX Licensing Pilot Factsheet Microsoft
• SharePoint Server: at least 5 servers
• CIS Suites Datacenter and Standard: minimum
order of 50 CPUs, therefore at least 25 licenses,
because one license covers 2 CPUs
• Microsoft Azure
The minimum order depends on each product:
With participating in the SCE program the customer
is obliged to standardize one or more components for
the entire company. Therefore the customer needs to
purchase Software Assurance for all existing/installed
licenses of an SCE component. For System Center the
customer is obliged to purchase complete System Center
coverage for the installed Windows server basis by the
Core Infrastructure Suites (CIS).

3. Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs for Educational Institutions
3.1 Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES)
In the framework of the Campus and School Agreements
(CASA), educational institutions can subscribe to Micro-
soft licenses easily and cost-effectively with EES. Licen-
sing works with standardized desktop platform licenses.
Two different options are on offer with EES:
• Professional Desktop: Office Professional Plus,
Windows Enterprise Upgrade and Core CAL Suite
• Enterprise Desktop: Office Professional Plus,
Windows Enterprise Upgrade and Enterprise CAL
Suite
Alternatively, only one or two of the three desktop plat-
form products can be licensed institution-wide. The
number of required licenses is determined by the num-
ber of fulltime equivalent employees with at least 200
hours a year; and not by the number of desktops as with
other Microsoft programs. Depending on the number of
employees, the annual lease can be much cheaper than
the purchase of single licenses.
The following price levels are offered in the EES program:
• Open Value Subscription (OVS) for Education

Price Level Number of Full-Time Employees
E 5 – 999
F 1,000 and more
3.2 School Agreement
The volume licensing program Microsoft School Agree-
ment offers special conditions for medium educational
institutions like schools. Just like for EES, licenses are
purchased depending on the number of employees or
so called full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. FTEs are
teachers and administration employees who work more
than 200 hours a year for the institution.
There are the following price levels:
In case of a certain relation of employees and PCs,
the subscription price can be much cheaper than the
purchase of single licenses. The agreement may be signed
by multiple schools or by just one. This way, schools can
add their orders in order to reach the amount for the
minimum initial purchase. The agreement may be signed
by a body maintaining school as well.
The School Agreement program covers a term of 1 or 3
years and includes Software Assurance.

4. Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs for Service Providers
1. Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA)
SPLA is an offer for Service Providers and Independent
Software Vendors (ISV). It grants extended license rights
which are needed to lease software to customers.
The SPLA program is provided as a monthly subscription.
Partners that host SPLA only pay for products that can
be used by their customers. There are no initial costs, no
monthly sales targets or long-term obligations.
Licenses under SPLA can be permanent or subscription
licenses which can be used for the agreement term. The-
re are three licensing models to provide customers with
licensed Microsoft products:
• Per Subscriber: For every single user or device which
has been authorized to access or use products, a
Subscriber Access License (SAL) is necessary. With
the SAL option no separate server license is needed.
• Per Processor: Every processor license allows an in-
finite number of users to access the software that
was installed on the processor in the framework of a
processor model.
• Per Core: This licensing model offers the same rights
of use as „Per Processor” and therefore access for
an unlimited number of users, but is based on the
number of cores per processor.

COMPAREX Licensing Pilot Factsheet Oracle
With more than 380,000 customers and deployments
across a wide variety of industries around the globe,
Oracle offers an optimized and fully integrated stack
of business hardware and software systems. Oracle en-
gineers hardware and software to work together in the
cloud and data center – from servers and storage, to da-
tabase and middleware, through applications.
Content:1. Named User Plus (NUP)
2. Processor
1. Named User Plus (NUP)
Oracle’s NUP program targets companies where the
number of users or devices can be easily determined and
does not change significantly over time. The number of
users and processor sockets defines which products are
relevant for the customer. The program is available for
both private companies and public sector institutions.
2. Processor
Oracle’s Processor licensing program is ideal for compa-
nies with high user numbers and where the number of
users is hard to determine. This form of licensing is in-
dependent from the number of users or devices and is
based on the server environment instead. This program
can also be used when it turns out to be more economic
than NUP licensing, e.g. when the number of 50 NUPs
(Standard and Enterprise Edition) or 33 NUPs (Standard
Edition One) is exceeded.
Minimum and maximum requirements are decisive for
the respective product. This program is available for both
private companies and public sector institutions.

Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security solutions tar-
get primarily small and mediumsized businesses with li-
mited IT employees and resources. The security solutions
do not require any maintenance or servers. They are ea-
sily scalable and therefore can be adapted to a compa-
ny’s growing requirements. The available discount level
depends on the number of needed licenses per product.
The sum of clients and servers is licensed. Each virtual
machine that has Worry-Free Business Security installed
will be counted. Licensing is possible starting with 5 up
to 250 users.
2. Trend Micro Enterprise Solutions
Trend Micro Enterprise is designed for large enterprises
and offers a broad range of solutions for endpoint and
mobile device security, network and web security, data
center and cloud security, messaging and collaboration
security and security and risk management. Licensing is
possible from 26 licenses onwards. The discount levels
are determined by the number of licenses demanded per
product.
For Trend Micro Enterprise products each user who has
access to a computer that is directly or indirectly connec-
ted with the network server on which Trend Micro soft-
ware is installed will be licensed. This applies also in case
of time shift usage by several users. A basis for determi-
ning the number of needed licenses can be, for example,
the number of personalized email accounts. However,
the number of servers on which the product is imple-
mented is irrelevant. Customers who obtain their licen-
ses and current maintenance by COMPAREX can enlist

5. Summary
1. Volume Purchasing Program (VPP)
The Volume Purchasing Program (VPP) by VMware pro-
vides customers with incremental, tier-based discounts
from 4 to 12 per cent. Based on a special system qua-
lified license products are assigned to points. The total
number of points defines the VPP level, in which a custo-
mer is given a particular discount. One VPP point equals
about USD100. The points are valid up to 2 years. Lo-
yal customers are rewarded as the points from different
purchases are accumulated in the background. Thus, the
customer is automatically assigned to a price level. Also
subsidiaries can benefit from this worldwide program as
they can be added to the contract as an affiliate.
him with discounts. In contrast to VPP the discounts are
set by the respective reseller. The points can be exchan-
ged dynamically and flexibly for licenses within the con-
tract duration. The EPP points are valid for a three year
period and it is possible to increase the number of points
with rebuys within the contract period. EPP is a worldwi-
de program of which subsidiaries can benefit from, while
being included in the contract as an affiliate.
3. Enterprise License Agreement (ELA)
An ELA contract that is personally negotiated with the
customer offers much higher discounts than EPP or VPP.
The customer defines the time of the project. Further
benefits of ELA are fixed prices and prolonging charges
for all licenses at the end of the ELA period. This sole
contract model includes support and subscription for the
existing installed base of purchased licenses for the con-
tract duration. Therefore, ELA is especially attractive to

Much higher discounts can be reached with the EPP pro-
gram by VMware. EPP also assigns points to the customer

larger VMware customers. In addition, ELA offers the op-
portunity that subsidiaries can benefit from, while being
included in the contract as an affiliate. Moreover, there
are various ELA models offering options such as true-up,
burn-down, or uncapped.
4. VMware vCloud Air Network (vCAN)
The VMware vCloud Air Network Program (vCAN) is de-
signed for service providers offering cloud based IT ser-
vices to end users. vCAN is a monthly pay-as-you-go and
pay-as-you-grow subscription based license model with
no huge upfront license investment.
Service providers agree to a minimum basic package for
license point usage including a potential overage calcu-
lation if the overall monthly usage exceeds the minimum
commitment. Besides, vCAN is a contractual framework
between VMware, the aggregator, and the service provi-
der and therefore, requires setting fixed conditions bet-
ween all parties.
