OptiPower Projects (Pty) Ltd was initiated and registered in 2001 by the current CEO Andre Swart.

Motivation to enter the industry was due to the lack of Broad-based Black Economic Empowered Companies within the Western Cape, and to

contribute and pass the experience gained from decades of transmission line related project participation within ABB South Africa. The company

started off with the installation of Overhead and underground Fibre Optics cables and advanced to turn-key construction of Overhead

Transmission Lines, Substations, and Renewable Energy Infrastructure.

OptiPower also achieved the “Transmission” and “Distribution” Black Economic Empowerment Status on Eskom’s vendor list. (Eskom Megawatt Park) as a LME, Vendor No: 11045781, as well as selected to be part of the Eskom Transmission Line Panel for al major Transmission

Lines on Eskom’s Power Delivery Projects, and Civil contractor for all Transmission Substation Works, incorporating the City of Cape Town and

Western Cape Provincial Government, Registration No: OPTI004TRW, As well as eThekwini (Durban) and many various other municipalities.

The aspiration and drive to provide a Quality turn-key solution to all aspects within the High, Medium and Low voltage Powerline, Substation and

Fibre Optic networks industry, is a commitment enforced by OptiPower’s top management.

The company is committed to uplifting previously disadvantaged communities and firmly believes in the continuous training of its whole workforce,

hence investing generously by embracing the South African Governments SD&L initiatives. All the permanent Site Personnel are trained in many

statutory requirements such as Eskom’s ORHVS, Occupational Health and Safety certification to enable them to work to the Safety Standards that

empowers the individuals as authorized persons on Substations, Overhead Powerlines and Fibre Optics.

Optipower also have its own in-house Engineering department that offers Assistance in design and specialized construction solutions to its

customers.

• In Mid 2013, OptiPower Projects were approached by ABB South Africa to assist in the construction of Soutpan PV Farm

• Scope of work included the following:

– Install of Steel Footing (Including all foundation drilling)

– Install complete tracker system

– Install all PV panels and wiring

• Due to our resilience on site ABB South Africa had furthered our scope to include civil works and Collector blocks

• OptiPower is currently generating the capacity and resources to form a specialized unit to continue in the construction of PV
