aware of the company’s policy with respect to the prevention and control

or accidents.

The company considers the safety of its employees and visitors as a major

part of its responsibility and to properly discharge this responsibility, the

following accident prevention policy has been established.

contract .

5. Health , Safety & Environment policy

It is policy of IhlasInsaat& Mars Star Contracting that work be carried out

in a manner compliant with the United Arab Emirates industrial health &

Safety Regulations.




The company will develop a positive health and safety culture throughout

the organization in the firm belief that “The good safety is the good

business”. to achieve this , the company will systematically identify all

works place hazard and take appropriate measures to reduce the risk and

promote positive health and safety policies to employees and other who

may be affected by the work operations and to presume improvement in

the health and safety management of the employees as a key resources .

7. Responsibilities

Project Manager & Project Engineer

Project Manager & Project Engineer will both be responsible for ensuring

that all production works carries out to the proper slandered on health ,

safety an environment , they are also responsible for ensuring that the

persons under their control are suitably experienced to enable them to

carry out their duties .

Safety Officer

Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the general site safety is

being maintained. He will liaise with the safety representative of sub-

contractors and conduct inspections of the site. He is also responsible for

ensuring that all register and records are kept to date.

The safety officer will also designate as the fire safety coordinator. His

main responsibility in this role is to review fire production requirement ,

and to monitors the availability and maintenance of firefighting

equipment .




Site Supervisors

The site supervisor is the designated crane and lifting coordinator, he will

be responsible for monitoring all crane operations.

Forman

The site foremen is designated propping and scaffolding coordinator and

is responsible for ensuring that all work involving scaffolding are carefully

coordinate and carried out in safe and systematic manner .

He will be responsible for the safe use and serviceability of the site

garbage, his duties include regularly monitoring to keep clean and tidy site

to avoid blockage, accumulation of debris and the related trips and fire

hazards.

The site foremen is also designated for excavation and back filling and

carried out in safe and systematic manner

First aider




Qualified first aider is responsible for providing first aid in response to any

accidents and shall make arrangement for future treatment if required .

8. HSE Rules and regulations

Anyone who will be working at site must report to the safety officer in site

prior to start the work

Performing their work activities in the manner in which they have correctly

trained such that they do not place themselves or anyone else at risk .

No Attempt to carryout work of any dangerous nature nor perform any

task nor operate any equipment unless they have been correctly trained

and authorized to do so.

Use the correct equipment to work

Use the protective clothing and equipment provided for their safety report

any unsafe condition, incident and near misses to their immediate

supervisor

Keep the work place in safe and tidy conditions.

Wearing g a safety goggles in a must on all operative.

Traffic sign board will be on display at the appropriate location for speed

limit and the operators of all vehicles will strictly follow traffic signs.

Safe working on roofs and heights

Barrier should be erected arguing opening in slabs and the entices to

vertical shafts at ground levels and at all other areas.




- Safety harness, safety helmet, safety goggles and hand gloves should

be used where appropriate while working on roofs.

- a life line should be provided to keep hook of the safety harness of the

operative while working on .

- Heights, to protect and prevent them from falling.

- Hand gloves are must while working with GI Sheet and other heavy

steel fabricated items to avoid injuries.

- A special care has to be taken during the fabricated steel structure

erection works.

Plant & Equipment

Mechanical plant and equipment include vehicle used to transport man

and plant used in actual construction work. The dangerous and specified

parts of the machinery must be guarded.

All machinery must be guarded. All machinery must be in sufficient

working order, good repair and properly used. Persons may not to ride or

be carried in insecure positions, electrically operated plants and

equipment must be properly installed and maintained.




Safety guards at the end should be provided to protect workers for injuries

due to the high speed running parts of rotary machines such as wood

cutting machines blades.

Lifting application and lifting gear .

Every crane and lifting application must be properly made and strong

enough for the work for which it is intended.

The site engineer usually decide on the setting of the cranes and other

lifting appliances , but in the case of mobile crane , the operator is

responsible for ensuring that the movement and position of the crane is

both safe and suitable .

Particular care should be taken near overhead power cables

The minimum safe working distance is the length of the 6 meter from the

over head cables.

A trained banks men will be at the site during the erection work operation

.

Test Certificate and record

The weekly inspection and other periodical tests and examinations to be

recorder in writing by the person carrying out the inspection, test, or

examination.
