Longfellows Group was first established as an Insurance

Brokerage in 1989 by George Zaal. George has more than

30 years experience in the insurance industry in both the

Underwriting and Broking field, with a thorough

understanding of underwriting which includes new business

terms and conditions negotiation, claims adjusting and

settlement.

Longfellows provides clients with an opportunity to access the

services of an insurance brokerage firm that deals in unique

risks. The Group incorporates two areas, Longfellows

Insurance Brokers and Longfellows Wine Export and is led by

principal George Zaal. Like many within the industry, George

coupled his passion for wine into his business operations,

resulting in a company that specialises in identifying the unique

exposures of the wine industry from the “vineyard to the table.”

Longfellows already works with over 220 wine clients and

many more Commercial Clients nationally and offers

personalised service and products tailored to individual needs

– backed up by a team of professionals with expertise in

Insurance, Law, Small business Management, wine marketing

and sales, vineyard development, export and logistics – that

George Zaal’s (Principal of Longfellows), extensive

knowledge and experience in insurance underwriting and

broking coupled with, involvement in his own Family

vineyards and over 30 years of exposure to the business

and marketing side of the Australian Wine industry has

allowed Longfellows to become a niche Insurance

brokerage specialising in the wine industry. With

comprehensive training for staff, by way of tastings,

WSET Wine training and hands on vintage experience,

Longfellows has clearly established themselves as

leaders in the wine insurance field.

George and his team undertake many activities through

out the year within the wine & commercial industries,

such as; trade shows, marketing conferences and wine

shows. This enables staff to interact with the clients on a

grass roots level therefore increasing consumer

confidence within our key markets. Longfellows

commercial events across Australia, to promote our
