Uttam Blastech played the resourceful part and contributed in some of the most sensitive and landmark projects like the Hyderabad Metro Rail, construction of GVK Mall, DLF Laing O'Rourke etc.

The foundation for the Hyderabad Metro Rail is being laid in a rocky terrain. In order to stabilise the foundation in areas like Jubilee Hills where the metro stations would be situated over rocky strata, Larsen & Toubro consulted us to monitor blast induced ground vibrations. To avoid damage to large number of shops lying in the up - market vicinity which would hinder the project further, Uttam Blastech’s experts ensured at every step that blast noises and vibrations are within permissible limits, and periodic reports regarding the same were submitted.

LANDMARK PROJECTS

Vimta Labs required a dump slope study analysis for one of its client’s mining projects. This analy-sis was to obtain environmental clearance from the regulatory authorities. The budget assigned and the scheduled time were quite tight. However, vimta labs approached Uttam Blastech, and we were able to carry out the analysis in the shortest time frame within the allocated budget.

Karwar Project

International Seaport Dredging Pvt. Ltd. approached us for conducting a pre-blast survey of surrounding structures at a project site in Karwar, Karnataka. Rock blasting has to be carried out near many important and critical structures at the project site. So, it is essential to document the present condition of the structures and design the blasts in a manner that it does not damage these structures. Uttam Blastech completed the survey of existing structures around the blasting area that are likely to be affected and recommended vibration levels for each structure.

DLF Laing O’Rourke was assigned the responsibility of blasting about 300,000 cubic metres of

The project was in a VIP location and with heritage structures in the proximity, leaving great chance for blasting relat-ed mishaps and litigations. DLF approached Uttam Blastech after which we were able to create documentation as evidence to avoid legal tangles, monitor all blasts to act as evidence in case of litigation, and also ensure that contractors adhered to the prescribed limits.

When a Dubai based group was assigned the task of constructing a Hydro Electric Project at the tow of the existing irrigation dam in Nigeria, Uttam Blastech provided expertise on rock blasting methodology which was at par with the Swiss consultant’s standards and requirements. Apart from providing blasting consultation, Uttam's experts helped execute the Hydro Electric Project without compromising on the safety standards of the dam or causing damage to the surrounding areas.

A Drilling and Blasting company wanted to acquire its competitors. The target company to be acquired was purchasing its raw materials from the intended buyer. One of the topmost consult-ing companies in the Gulf carried out a valuation of the target organisation. When the acquirer approached Uttam Blastech, we analysed the qualities of purchase orders, balance sheets and technical competency of the organisation and suggested a much lower valuation of the target company when compared to the other consultant.

Nigeria Project - Nigeria

The Gulf - Oman

Pioneer Builders needed to carry out blasting below a 440 kV power line connecting Hyderabad and Nagarjuna Power House which supplies electricity to the entire city. Since the job was of high risk and required extreme precautions, they approached Uttam Blastech. We decided to use in-hole delays & blast different decks at different intervals (keeping charge per delay within limits) with safety as a priority. The blast vibrations and noise were constantly monitored for the use of the

struction sector in the state to use in-hole delays and seismographs.

Sri Laxmi Engineering Company was asked to excavate around 37,000 cubic metres of rock by NTPC (Super Thermal Power Station) at their Super Thermal Unit in Ramagundam. Sri laxmi engi-neering company approached Uttam Blastech for rock blasting as the site was in a very critical area, 20 metres away from their power producing turbine and about 6 metres from the pump house which supplies water to the entire unit. Surpassing all odds Uttam Blastech convinced the authorities on safety concerns and completed the work in 37 days, producing 1000 cubic metres a day.

Sri Sai Lakshmi Construction & Company consulted Uttam Blastech to blast 125,000 cubic metres of rock next to 75 year old Kekote dam that supplies water to the city of Gwalior in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Safety and implementation were our greatest challenges. We coordinated with the dam authorities and executed the task in less than 6 months to their satis-faction.

Uttam Blastech helped in feeding a 300 tons per hour crusher from quarry which was not produc-ing the day’s requirement right next to Sonnappanahalli village, Bangalore, Karnataka. Uttam Blas-

develop proper benches in the mine and use controlled blasting. Each blast was then monitored for vibrations and the noise produced to ensure that vibrations and noise generated in the blast-ing are within the prescribed limits.

Prism Cement

Prism Cement’s acquisition of Fletcher Building’s Concrete business of construction materials led to the acquisition of a quarry as well. Before our intervention, the company was able to produce about 4,500 tons of boulders per month. However, after our involvement, the production reached to about 18,000 tons of boulders in 6 months; four times that of the initial production capacity without any addition in machinery.
