Carrera 6 5 – 6 - 4#5 Professor Cinch – ¡Wow!

Friday, May 26Race 1 3 – 2 - 6 #3 Abbey Vale - You will notice that along this sheet we will use Thorograph (TG) Data and numbers as the main criterion for our analysis. These sheets are sold in the Gift Shop of Santa Anita. Difficult to ignore how well this horse has been running lately. That last race was phenomenal. If he repeats that TG number from his last race, it will be difficult to beat him today. #2 Sky Preacher – He has run the same TG number in his last 7 races, a "6". Hugely consistent and safe to say that he should put in another good run here again. #6 Rye Patch -Eddie Truman just claimed this horse and Eddie is winning races this season at a clip of almost 60%. It's amazing! This looks like another good horse in his stable and should be dangerous here.
Race 2 4 - 5 - 6 #4 Bookies Luck – This Colt is the only one here with experience, and this is quite an advantage. He took a lot of action in his first outing, closing as the favorite. He did not break well, but even so came third. With a race under his belt he should run much better today. #5 Run Away - This colt has never raced but has some sensational works. I like it when they pay more than 20 times the price of "stud" for a horse at auction. In this case they paid 65 times the price of stud! Our leading rider mounts, and he should run very well today. #6 Honeymoonz Over - This two year old Colt comes here with some outstanding works as well. Doug’s brother Dennis has a very good eye for choosing runners and this seems to be another live one like the one that won on Thursday. They paid a lot for him, $360K, and expect quick dividends with a victory here.

Race 3 2 - 4 - 6 # 2 Temple Keys – This is the most difficult day race. You could make a case for all in here. We are going with this Baltas Colt that always runs TG good numbers. I think he will like getting back to a mile and González has won with him in the past. #4 Eckersley - His last race was too difficult. He was also on the synthetic surface. Now he goes back to the grass in an easier race than his last and he can win here. #6 Diplodocus - This is the x-factor here. He is certainly the class of the race. But has not been out since December of last year. If he is ready he can win this race. But this may be a prep race. Play him with caution.
Race 4 5 – 1 - 4 #5 Pistol Packin Rose - Many positive things in the corner of this filly. She has great speed, connections are impeccable and is in the best shape of her life. She has the best TG numbers in the race and they will all have to catch her to win. She should be in the winner's circle after the race. #1 Gemini Journey – She has never been out of the money in any of her dirt races. She has improved her TG numbers in each race and if she continues to improve she will have a great chance to win. #4 Quality of Starr – This gal actually beat our top pick the last time they clashed. She is coming down in class and has the apprentice who is running pretty well lately. Not without a chance.
Race 5 4 - 6 - 3 4 True Value – There are 3 that stand out here with this guy receiving a slight advantage. Enters here from NY and Kentucky where he almost won his last race. They put blinkers on and he should run beautifully. #6 My Farmer - This guy is not far behind. He comes in here with the best TG number and he definitely should show speed. Tiz Indy also has great speed. These two will be out there gunning early. If they do not kill one another, both should be there at the finish line. #3 Tiz Indy - As I said, this guy also comes in here with much speed. If the two go too fast early, be careful with the #13 More Magical.
Race 6 5 - 6 - 4#5 Professor Cinch - Wow! That last race was exceptional. The best TG number of the field by several lengths. It was his first time trying the difficult course that is 6.5f down the hill, and he passed the test with flying colors. #6 Tyler’s Tek - This rider and trainer tandem won last week with a similar horse coming here from Arizona. He is almost undefeated, losing a close race. Has a great chance here. #4 Sequencially – This guy also ran very well in his only outing down the Hill. With a little improvement he will be there at the finish line.
Race 7 2 - 5 - 7 #2 Old Man Lake - This old timer is dropping in class and has a few TG numbers in his resume that you would win here easily. I think he needed that last race after a break, and I think he will come out running much better today. #5 Tough It Out -this grey is cutting its claim price in half. Miyadi is "on fire" and I am sure that he will have this horse ready. Also has good TG numbers in his resume and will come flying in the Home Stretch. #7 Sudden Sam - Seems to be the speed of the speed. He is also trained by Miyadi who is an exceptional trainer. The tactics for these two seem easy. One will take the lead, and the other will come from the clouds. Miyadi the Master has this race bookended.
Race 8 "4" - 8 - 2 Best bet of the day #4 Blame Joe - I really think this Colt will run very well today. He is dropping from MSW to MCL which is always a good angle. His last race on the grass earned the best grass TG number. Also he comes in here newly castrated. His race on the grass was last year when he was only two years old. He should improve substantially now that he is 3 years old. The rider is riding superbly, the trainer is a monster, and he is exceptionally bred for the grass. He is the best bet of the day. #8 Perfection Tale - This guy also comes down from MSW to MCL. He has never tried the grass, but that first race on dirt won the best TG number in the field. If he likes the grass he will be a big factor here. #2 Allaboutmike - If the #12 Westwood’s Wizard enters the race, he will be the third selection here. If he does not then we go with another Colt from Peter Miller that was 2 good races on the grass in Florida. He should run fine, the only question is the distance which will perhaps be a bit too long. Guarantee Late Pick 4 - $300,000
