Community Youth Orchestra of Southern California2016-2017 Season Audition Excerpts

There are three (3) excerpts for the Sinfonia audition. The excerpts are drawn from theseworks:

1. W.A. Mozart - Divertimento in F Major, K1382. Bela Bartok (arr. Willner) - Roumanian Folk Dances

In order to present these successfully at your audition, please consider the following:

1. Ensure that the difficulty level of the excerpts is not beyond your current ability to play. At minimum, the correct rhythms and notes must be presented at the audition.

2. You are welcome to use any bowings and/or fingerings that you find appropriate for the excerpts.

3. We encourage you to listen to recordings of these works if you are not familiar with them. Multiple versions from professional ensembles are available on YouTube.

4. You may skip any rests in excess of 3 measures.

5. Play only the top line of any divisi passages.
