In the Lodzkie Region a significant increase in thedemand for social and health services has beenobserved in recent years, which is characteristic notonly for our region, but also for the whole countryand other European countries.

This is mainly related to the depopulation andageing of our region's population.

What does old age look like in Lodzkie?

• is a woman - the feminisation of old age,

• she's a widow - singularization,

• with a single source of income - a decrease in income, a one-person household,

• with decreasing efficiency - deterioration of health condition.

Community Services Centres

Due to the scale of the phenomenon, it is crucial to supportboth the national and local budgets with additional funds.

Thanks to the current financial perspective for 2014-2020, itis possible to finance social and health services provided inthe local environment for the first time from EU funds(Regional Operational Programme of the Lodzkie Regionfor 2014-2020).










Community Service Centres are a relatively new, but increasingly popularmodel of cooperation, which assumes the possibility of joint implementationof projects in a given district by non-governmental organizations and localgovernments.

Community Service Centres are places where appropriate assistance andcomprehensive support can be provided to the inhabitants of the wholedistrict. At the same time, it is an effective response to the problems affectingthe most needy - people at risk of poverty and social exclusion, includingpeople with disabilities, families with children with disabilities and dependentpeople in need of care due to their old age or health condition.






The scope of services provided by the centre may include, inter alia:

assistantship services provided by an assistant for people with disabilities or by a personal assistant for people with disabilities

residential care services, specialised care servicesdaily forms of care services provided by residential institutions (day care

and social centres, day clubs, etc.)neighbourhood assistanceassisted housingtraining and practical activities and exchange of experience for actual

carers, increasing their competence in caring for dependent personslegal services, information, advisory and training services






The scope of services provided by the centre may include, inter alia:

respite care

hire of rehabilitation equipment for non-self-reliant persons

transport to the place of supply of services

meal delivery

telecare

family support and foster care system services provided by SocialWelfare Centre/District Family Support Centre

day-care centres for children and youth run in accordance with the Act on Family Support and Foster Care System

selected health services provided in the local environment


In order to create the Centre, a partnership must beestablished, which includes a given district and at leastone municipality in the district and at least one socialeconomy entity.

Since 2017, 14 such entities have been established asa result of already announced competitions.
