Dear Students, Parents, Guardians
and Community Members,
This has been a very busy start
to the 2018-19 school year. We
had a very successful solar
panel press release, our
enrollment stays strong, we
have an afterschool soccer
league, we hired three new
employees, cross country and
volleyball athletes and coaches
are representing ROCS in a
manner we can all be proud of!
Coming up are these events:
BINGO Night, RED SLED
BAZAAR, Fall Festival, Track
Dash For Cash Jog-A-Thon,
Scholastic Book Fair, Trunk and
Treat! All of which YOU are in-
vited to participate and we hope
you attend. Please sponsor your
student with our Jog-A-Thon.
Proceeds will go towards
building a new track to offer our
athletes, our Physical Education
program, and our families on
the weekends!! Please help
support our Track Dash for Cash
Jog-A-Thon and sponsor a child
to day. Call the office to make

Message from Thalia Truesdell, Ruch Public
Library Branch Manager
Second Annual
Celebration of Mind Gathering
Saturday, October 20 1-3 p.m. Activities throughout the Library will inspire fun and wonder for puzzles, games, math, magic, art, and more. Gardner (1914 –2010) was best known for encouraging popular interest in recreational mathematics through his “Mathematical Games” column in Scientific American, which ran for 25 years. He was dedicated to the pursuit of a playful and fun approach to math, science, art, magic, illusion, puzzles, and the workings of the mind. This family-friendly event promotes curiosity and critical thinking through play. All ages are welcome to enjoy games and prizes. Come excite your mind!
Celebration of Mind Gathering is part of a worldwide celebration of the legacy of Martin Gardner, held annually on or near his birthdate. For more information about the Gathering for Gardner Foundation (G4G) Celebration of Mind Gatherings, please visit the website: https://www.celebrationofmind.org/.
