Pregnancy may be the most exciting and possibly terrifying time of a woman’s life. If you are this woman or know of one, we want you to know we care about you and your welfare. This packet is aimed at informing you of the resources you have available to help you through this time. Most of them are free of charge. Please review this packet of information to determine what is available to you and how to contact a resource that you deem appropriate. All the resources in this packet are there to help you. We are sincere when we say that we have your best interests at heart and you can have confidence that anyone you contact from these resources will understand your situation and will keep your information private. We will start with people most familiar with your situation.

There are many centers, including a few important ones close by, that belong to the Greater Cincinnati/Miami Valley Pregnancy Center Coalition. All of the pregnancy centers included in this brochure are committed to a code of ethics that support life from conception to natural death and offer free testing and/or counsel-ing to those with physical, emotional, educational, financial, and legal needs due to pregnancy. All information from these centers is of course free and confidential. They offer many alternatives that clients need in order to make informed judgments about their particular situation. Q: Where can I get some material assistance, for clothes, food, diapers and furniture for example?

A: There are many sources for items you may need right now in a center near you. Call to see if they have what you need.

Q: I have already had one or more pregnancy terminations, what can I do now? A: There is a group of women (and men) who have terminated their pregnancy and now have second thoughts. They have formed a group to advise others about what they have experienced. You would be well advised to call them at 513-784-0531 or 1-800-593-2273.

Q: I don’t think I can afford a baby now. What can I do?

A: There are many people that have been there and know what you are talking about. There may be resources you haven’t heard about yet that can advise you about financial aid and get help for you. Many of these are listed in this brochure.

Q: I’m not ready and am really afraid of the responsibility of having a baby. What can I do?

A: It is a responsibility and everybody needs help that is going through a pregnancy. You may be surprised how much real support you will get when others know of your situation. They themselves have been there. Talk to someone listed in the brochure.

Q: Having a baby is not what I really wanted to do with the rest of my life. Am I not entitled to be free of this responsibility?

A: That‘s a difficult question to answer and you probably need some time to seriously think about your answer, especially when you need to consider that other people are involved including the father of your child. Please get help with this question through the resources available to you and mentioned in this brochure.

Q: I am not in a good relationship with the baby’s father and fear bringing up a child as a single parent. What can I do ?

A: There are many people who have been in your situation. They may be able to offer you suggestions depending upon your circumstances. Some people mentioned in this brochure can help because they themselves have been there.

Q: I really have all the children I want and this one is really unexpected and unwanted. What can I do?

A: From already having children you know what to expect and it isn’t easy to have another child when you didn’t want one. You really should talk to someone about the real alternatives before ending that life within you by getting counsel from one of the resources in this brochure. You will gain insight, information, and needed support that will empower you in your decision-making process.

Q: Where can I go for a pregnancy test?

A: There are several places that may provide non-diagnostic ultra-sounds to determine viability and/or gestational age. Most of these are the pregnancy centers mentioned in this booklet.

Q: Do I need an approved test to get a Medical Card for my pregnancy?

A: Yes. Only an approved test will allow you apply for a medical card. Call one of the centers in this booklet.
