Everywhere people are talking about Community Paramedics!

The concept of Integrated Mobile Health Care Delivery

is dominating the EMS scene these days. Arguably, in

the national healthcare reform environment that is

upon us, CP programs seem to have unlimited

potential. But how do they really work? Where do they

make sense and how are they paid for?

Join the dialogue about these many other questions

with some of the countrys most experienced leaders

    in Community Paramedicine.

Gary Wingrove, Government Relations & Strategic Affairs at Gold Cross/Mayo Medical Transport will discuss the

development of the role of the Community Paramedic nationally and internationally.

Matt Zavadsky, Director of Public Affairs at MedStar Mobile Health Care in Fort Worth, Texas. Matt will share how

MedStar has implemented Community Health Programs using paramedics to provide non-emergency care to heart

failure patients, Hospice patients and frequent EMS users to help reduce admissions and improve their overall

quality of life. The MedStar program has had multiple successes, including decreasing 911 calls by a significant

percentage in their frequent user population.

Dr. Daniel Swayze, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at Center for Emergency Medicine of Western

Pennsylvania, Inc. will discuss the use of paramedics in Pennsylvania who provide in-home disease management

services. Dan will share data on the results of their program as well as talk about integration with third party

    insurance providers.

The panel will be moderated by Susan Long, Director of Clinical Services with Allina Health EMS. Susan is currently

President of the North Central EMS Institute and was instrumental in the creation of the Community Paramedic

    program at Allina Health.
