Thank you for your interest in fundraising for RACQ LifeFlight Rescue!

Holding an event for RACQ LifeFlight Rescue is a fun and rewarding way to support

our vital community helicopter service that rescues more than 2,000 people every

year.

This Community Fundraising Guide will assist you in organising your very own

fundraising event or initiative. It contains everything you need to know to help you

get started, including information abou t how RACQ LifeFlight Rescue can help

support your event and how to submit your funds.

If you have any further questions please contact us on 1800 630 014 or email

[email protected].

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue has many other exciting programs you can get involved

in such as corporate partnerships and workplace giving. If you are interested in

discussing these, please contact [email protected].

Hosting your own fundraising event on behalf of RACQ LifeFlight Rescue can be

done in just three simple steps:

1. Choose a fundraising idea or eventThroughout the year, supporters of RACQ LifeFlight Rescue from all over

Queensland host sausage sizzles, movie nights or golf days to raise funds to help

keep our community helicopters flying. You can also fundraise in this way, or come

up with your own creative idea to begin raising much-needed funds.

2. Register your event or activity

To do this, either register your event online at: https://www.lifeflight.org.au/community/how-you-can-help/fundraise/ or fill in the Community Fundraising

Event Registration Form attached to this document and email/post it through to us.

Once your registration is received, a member of the fundraising team will contact

you to discuss your event and provide you with an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue

Community Host Kit.

3. Start fundraising!

Promote your fundraising event to friends, family, neighbours, and anyone you

would like to attend or donate.

If you receive a cash or cheque donation, keep track of any donors who need a

receipt by recording their details on the Donor Receipt Form (within your

Community Host Kit). Complete this form and send it to RACQ LifeFlight Rescue

within 14 days of your event.

You can also promote your cause by online fundraising with everydayhero.

Everydayhero is a convenient and easy-to-use fundraising platform which can help

you to achieve your goals. Through the platform, you can:

» Build your own supporter page to inspire others, post updates, photos and

videos, and ask for sponsorship.

» Leave the administrative side of things to someone else so you can focus on

what you’re passionate about - not receipts and reconciliation! Everydayhero

processes every donation from your sponsors, issues a tax-deductible receipt (if

applicable) to the donor instantly by email, and deposits the money directly to

the LifeFlight Foundation bank account (please choose LifeFlight Foundation as

your nominated charity when you set up your page).

» Inspire your networks by emailing, posting, tweeting (and talking!) to show them

what you are doing and why. Remember – the more people you tell, the more

help you will receive!

» Show gratitude - every time someone sponsors you through your supporter

page, you will receive an email with details on your supporter (unless they wish

to remain anonymous). You can take this opportunity to say a BIG thank you

and let them know you appreciate their support.
