Things to Consider When Selecting a Civilian School
• For-profit versus non-profit school• Brick and mortar versus distance learning school• Regional versus national accreditation• As a consumer:
• You want to get your money’s worth• You want to participate in a program that “adds value”• You want to earn credits and a credential that are
recognized as being worthwhile, that stand for something, and that enhance your career
• You need to get smart on the issues and your options• We can’t all go to Harvard…explore your options and make
the choice that is best for you in your particular situation

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS
• How do I order another CCAF diploma?• In the event your diploma is lost, stolen, or damaged, you
may request a replacement diploma through our Registrar’s office via email. You will need to provide your name, SSN, reason for replacement, and forwarding address to [email protected].
• Does AU-ABC have a degree program for all AFSCs?• Yes, all AFSCs have degree programs associated with their
respective AFSCs. Specifically for 3E0X2 there are four web pages of schools with degree programs that relate to this AFSC. Should you have question you may contact CCAF at DSN 749-5092.

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS
• Why does the ANG not receive TA?• Members of the National Guard are eligible for tuition
assistance. However each of the Armed Forces determines how to administer their own Tuition Assistance (TA). Since the ANG is a state specific program, each state can/does determine the TA requirements and benefits provided. In addition each state may offer its National Guard service members state funded education incentives based on state guidelines and eligibility (i.e. TA, waivers, exemptions, student loan repayment, etc.).

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS
• State Tuition Assistance - Although not all states offer payment of TA, many states have additional tuition incentives, which are offered in varying amounts. Visit the following website and in the lower right-hand corner (under the “EXPLORE” tab) you can select your state and see what TA benefits you are eligible for: http://www.goang.com/benefits/
• Air Force Tuition Assistance (Activated Guard and Reserve) - If
activated you will become eligible for the Air Force Tuition Assistance for Active Duty and Activated Reserve/Guard. This Tuition Assistance Program offers:
100% Tuition and Fees up to $250 @ Semester Credit Hour or $166 @ Quarter Credit Hour.
Not to exceed $4,500 @ Fiscal Year

• Supervisors Need to be Education Advocates• Set a good example by getting your CCAF degree (credibility)• Reinforce the value of education/CCAF degree (increased competence)
• Encourage Earlier Completion of CCAF Degrees• Education is the #1 reason Airmen enlist in the Air Force!• Average new CCAF graduate has 9.64 years service and SSgt rank• Allow our young Airmen to start school when feasible
• Airmen could be allowed to go to school while enrolled in CDCs• Reducing the time to graduate increases payback to the Airman and AF• Motivate Airmen to continue education to the level THEY desire• CCAF is the corporate degree of the AF enlisted member!• HOT: Credits must all be obtained while actively serving on active duty,
guard or reserve – Retirees and/or those separated can’t add credits
