Pastor Scott’s Issue: Footprints in the Snow
(adaptation of Mary Stevenson’s “Footprints in the Sand”)
Every morning I take a walk along the road with my dog, Trixie. Many ideas and tasks for the coming day flash across
my mind.
On this particular morning I noticed the two sets of footprints in snow: always two sets of footprints.
I was comforted by the other set of footprints. Always there,
every morning. Even during low periods in my life, when I was suffering from anguish of the coming day, sorrow or
defeat, no matter how far down the road I looked: always two sets of footprints. During times of joy and comfort and contentedness: always
two sets of footprints.
So, I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would
walk with me always. And I have noticed that even when I have not followed you, I still see two sets of footprints. Why, when I have been too self-absorbed to
notice you, have you always been there with me?”
The Lord replied, “The times when you have not followed me is when I neither left you nor forsook you, for you are my child.”
May we be comforted by God’s assurance to never leave us nor forsake us.
(Isaiah 41:10; Deuteronomy 31:6; Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5; Romans 8:38-39)
Peace, Pastor Scott

can also request an application by mail. Applications are
due in the church office no later than Monday, December

Pumpkin Party
October 25th was a party, a Pumpkin Party at CCBJ! 27 Children arrived ready for a whole day of exciting events! The children moved from station to station and enjoyed singing, crafts, board games, team games, cookie decorating and evangelism in the form of stories as well as a wonderful message by Pastor Scott, spread throughout the day, using the Pumpkin Gospel: We are chosen, cleansed within and without, until the light of Jesus shines through us! Children and adults had such a great time thanks to the amazing leadership of Leah Loew! We wrapped up the day with some serious pumpkin fun outdoors! Without a doubt, the day was a SMASHING success!!!
W.O.W. Updates Still in the fall spirit, CE joined in the Boulder
Junction Town Trick or Treat event on Saturday October 26th. Over 200 invitations to W.O.W were handed out attached to 400 pieces of candy! A special thanks to those who joined with us to do a Trunk or Treat, handing out candy, and sharing smiles, laughs and the love of Jesus with the community!
The children all enjoyed a special nacho snack and a “Follow-ing Jesus” Fall Fiesta on October 30th. Crafts and lesson focused around the fall theme of candy corn and fall blessing mix went home as a treat. A typed copy of the Pumpkin Prayer was sent home to reinforce Pastor Scott’s message during the Pumpkin Party. Picture Perfect Did you have a look at the photographs taken by the Boys to Christian Men? These young men completed their fall session on photography and their pictures are on display in the Narthex. Their photos will also be on display at the Boulder Junction Public Library in January. Boys, we are so proud of you all! If you haven’t done so, be sure to take the time to read how their pictures speak of the God of Creation. The boys have each shared from their heart and you won’t want to miss it. Special thanks to Jim Stober for his dedication to this mentoring program. Movie Night The last of the three fall Movie Nights was held on November 15th, with 28 people gathered in Fellowship Hall and the library to watch Chariots of Fire or Lion of Judah. Shelby Tallroth was the winner of the door prize drawing which was a gift certificate donated by the Boulder Beer Bar. We are so very thankful for their support. Movie night will resume in January, so if you have a favorite inspirational movie, let someone on CE know so it can be considered in the future. Upcoming CE Events - Please watch the bulletin for details and check Fellowship Hall for sign-up sheets.
