Of births, deaths and migration
For the next ten years, of 4.4 million increase, 2.3 million (47 %) are the total number of net migration.
The projected total population of the United Kingdom at 2016 is 1.7 million (2.6 per cent) higher than in the previous (2004-based) projections. This is due to a combination of higher birth rate assumptions, higher assumed levels of net migration, and higher life expectancy assumptions.
A long-term net migration inflow of +190,000 each year. This compares with an assumed long-term net inflow of +145,000 a year in the previous projections.

“The only concentrations which resemble anything like ghettos are of white people. The average white person lives in an area which has more than 94% white people in it.
“British Pakistanis, for example, live in areas which on average have 26% Pakistani residents. In almost every city with a sizeable immigrant settlement area, children of immigrants have on balance moved away from those areas not to them or between them. So it is wrong to argue there is retreat. Rather, we are witnessing dispersal.”
