COMMUNITIESIN FULL COLOUR

COMMUNITIESIN FULL COLOURRetail co-operatives in Western Canada were first started in the early 20th century. Since then, the Co-operative Retailing System has grown to over 211 independent, hardworking retail co-operatives. Working together, Co-ops form a Western Canadian network with 2,500 retail locations in 500 communities, serving over 1.5 million active members and millions of other customers.

As Co-op grows and evolves to serve our customers and communities better, we believe that by working together we can make good things happen. Our Social Responsibility program is part of our ongoing commitment to give back, lend a hand and do what we can to support the causes that matter most to you. Co-op has fostered a business that is centred around the customer – an organization built on the idea of being truly local and the promise of staying that way. We’re a business built for communities and about communities. We are proud to be part of your community, and we are happy to lend a hand towards projects and partnerships that are doing good things close to home. Co-op would like to give back by preserving, enhancing and beautifying the communities in which we live, work and play. COMMUNITIES IN FULL COLOUR will provide paint for projects that improve the wellbeing of our communities. Whether it be painting the old town rink or brightening up a seniors’ centre, COMMUNITIES IN FULL COLOUR will provide paint at no charge towards projects and partnerships that are important.

If your project aligns with the program’s objectives and goals as outlined on the following page, please do not hesitate to apply.

On behalf of your local Co-op, we thank you for your interest in the COMMUNITIES IN FULL COLOUR paint donation program.

OVERVIEW

Scope of program

The COMMUNITIES IN FULL COLOUR paint donation program is designed to provide local community organizations with free paint to be used towards local community improvements. The paint donation covers any interior, exterior, primer, stain or specialty coatings required. The program does NOT include applicators, surface preparation or repair products that might be required for a given project.

Who is eligible

The COMMUNTIES IN FULL COLOUR paint donation is available to registered charities, registered non-profits, registered community groups, youth sport and recreation associations, and community improvement associations.

Priority will be given to applications that:

• Support projects located within the trading area of the local Co-op

• Align with the charitable priorities of the local Co-op

• Identify a solution to a community need

Projects ineligible for funding include ones that:

• Support religious- or political-affiliated organizations

• Do not align with the charitable priorities of the local Co-op

How to apply:

Complete the COMMUNITIES IN FULL COLOUR application form in full. Consider the scope of your project that might extend beyond paint, including surface preparation requirements, cleaning, patching, repairs or renovations to facilities and construction needs. Are there construction needs beyond paint that could be purchased through Co-op to complete the project?

Completed application forms can be submitted to the Co-op Home Centre manager. Applications are collected and will be reviewed by the Co-op Association. Projects selected for paint donation will be notified by the Co-op Home Centre manager.

Thank you for your interest in the Co-op COMMUNITIES IN FULL COLOUR paint donation program.
