HYMN OF PRAISE “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!” No. 136 GOD’S PEOPLE PRAY
OPENING PRAYER (In unison)
Almighty and merciful God, you have made us for yourself,
and made us in your own image. We rejected you, but you
kept on loving us, and you sent your Son to find us and
rescue us, and like lost sheep to carry us home on his
shoulders.
God of grace and mercy, you have given us minds to know
you, hearts to love you, and voices to sing your praise. Fill
us with your Holy Spirit that we may celebrate your glory and
truly worship you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Gracious Words of Invitation The Call to the Supper The Prayer of Confession [in unison]
Lord God, we bow our heads in your presence, aware of our unworthiness to be called your sons and daughters. We confess that we are tempted by life’s attractions, and have failed to be the men and women that Christ expects us to be, as his followers. In the silence of these moments help us to silently make our personal confessions to you, Our Father God. Let the peace and joy of your forgiveness flood our hearts, minds, and souls now, and let us come to this the holy table with clean hands and pure hearts. Amen.
