October 26 & 27, 2013 Welcome all in the name of Jesus, especially those who are worshiping for the first time with us. Please sign our guest book (make sure to indicate if you would like the Pastor to visit) and pick up a white visitor packet located under the visitor guest book in the Narthex and accept our invitation to worship with us again. Who should commune at the Altar of Glory of Christ Lutheran Church? According to the Scriptures and the Confessional statements of the church only those should commune who “have been examined and absolved” by the pastor. If you wish to commune at Glory of Christ for the first time, please talk to the Pastor before doing so. Holy Communion is the most intimate expression of Christian fellowship and it is important to the members of Glory of Christ Lutheran Church that all who commune have a common understanding and commitment to the Gospel teachings of the Bible.
Altar Flower Chart: The cost of the Altar flowers is $30 per Sunday and you will be able to take your flowers home with you after the service in a box located on the kitchen counter. In order to have your payment for flowers applied correctly, please use one of the Designated Offering envelopes found in your box of envelopes or label the outside of one of your regular envelopes with the words ‘for flowers’. Janice Hartness is our flower coordinator. If you have any special requests please contact her at 763-355-5427 by the Wednesday prior. Fred & Lois Parduhn provided the altar flowers this morning in honor of their wedding anniversary. May God Bless them on this special occasion! Sunday Schedule: Divine Service at 9:00 am; followed by Bible class and Sunday school. Saturday Night services at 5:00 pm Fall has arrived and activities resume! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, the 29th of October. Starting at 9:00a.m., we will once again serve the Lord by making quilts for "Lutheran World Relief and Orphan Grain Train". Please remember to bring your bag lunch along. We plan to wrap up the day by 2:30 PM. NEEDING A RIDE? If you need a ride for a doctor appointment, or get groceries, or anything else, the Compassion Circle has arranged for you to call the church office and someone will give you a call and assist you with your ride. Not only will you be provided a ride, but you will also be able to be with someone from church who cares. Feel free to give a call to the church office. IF YOU CAN BE A DRIVER: Please sign up on the sheet on the table in the Narthex. Thank You! Compassion Circle will meet on November 4, at 10:30 to assemble Mercy Kits for the Orphan Grain Train. Please bring your lunch and we will begin our regular meeting at 1:00 as usual with devotion, dessert and fellowship. Note the starting time. Look forward to seeing you then.
The Compassion Circle is having an in-gathering of food for a Thanksgiving Dinner through IOCP. You can find brown paper bags in the narthex by the front door, with a list of items to fill the bag and provide a Thanksgiving Dinner for someone who would go without. If you prefer, you can also make a check payable to Glory of Christ for $10 that will provide a turkey for the dinner. The church will then make one check to IOCP for the total amount. The filled brown bags need to be back to the church no later than Thursday, November 14th so IOCP can prepare them for delivery to the various families. This is a great opportunity to help those in need in our community.
Thank you to the 24 women who made the October Women of Faith get together a success! We collected 43 pounds of food to donate and learned a lot from our speaker Kelly. Join us again on November 16th from 9:30-11:00. Christine Krenzke will tell us about the Deaconess vocation. Please invite your daughters, granddaughters, or friends who might be interested in becoming a deaconess. Also bring a non perishable food item to donate to the food shelf.
Mom’s Group will meet at church on Tuesdays at 10:00 A.M. Hope to see you there!
Babysitter Needed for Mom’s Group! If you are able, or know someone who is, we need a babysitter for the Mom’s group meetings. Please call Brenda in the office if you can help out with this need. Wednesday morning Bible Class has begun and will continue every Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. We are studying the book of Hosea.

C Glory to You, O Lord.
31So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,
32and
you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and
have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” 34Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.
35The slave does not
remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

God, king of all creation, for You have had mercy on us and given Your only-begotten Son that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Grant us Your Spirit, gracious Father, that we may give
heed to the testament of Your Son in true faith and, above all, firmly take to heart the words with which Christ
gives to us His body and blood for our forgiveness. By Your grace, lead us to remember and give thanks for the
boundless love which He manifested to us when, by pouring out His precious blood, He saved us from Your
righteous wrath and from sin, death, and hell. Grant that we may receive the bread and wine, that is, His body
and blood, as a gift, guarantee, and pledge of His salvation. Graciously receive our prayers; deliver and preserve
us. To You alone, O Father, be all glory, honor, and worship, with the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God, now
