CeCo-TRANS, Teltronic’s Control Center designed for the transportation sector, integrates solutions to the most common voice and data requirements of this environment, providing operators and supervisors an advanced support tool to interact with the system resources easily and intuitively.

This application is oriented specifically to the management of the transportation fleets and provides a graphical interface, called “synoptic line”, which facilitates the operator’s tasks to communicate with vehicles.

Based on TETRA technology, the main functions provided by CeCo-TRANS are as follows:

• AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) by means of different methods of vehicle positioning

• Calls priority management assuring that there will be available radio resources in the system in critical situations.

Apart from the functions mentioned above, CeCo-TRANS has multiple key points to be highlighted:

Continuous Data Communications for Signalling Systems

CCTV and Video in Mobility Solutions Integration

The three main objectives of transport operators are to improve passenger service, increase operational safety and reduce overall operating costs. Achieving these objectives involves a high degree of information management and processing, particularly in established railway signalling systems. These systems are based on radio communications networks that facilitate end-to-end transmission of the data generated - vital data, since it contains information relating to operation of the trains and, therefore, to the safety of the passengers.

Based on the vast experience obtained and dominant position achieved in the transportation sector over the past decade, TELTRONIC continues to strive to introduce its radio solutions into other application areas like the railway signaling environments. TELTRONIC provides a communications solution based on TETRA or LTE technology as an alternative mean for data transmission instead of the radio systems employed to date. The proposals comply with all the technical requirements needed for the appropriate end to end performance of the signalling system and are composed of the RTP-S on-board equipment and the eNEBULA infrastructure.

The systems currently most used for train protection system are:

• ERTMS - Level 2 (European Railway Traffic Management System) for high-speed and conventional lines in Europe and worldwide, which employs a protocol known as ETCS. This method facilitates radio interoperability for cross-border traffic. In these environments, in the near future is expected to have ERTMS-Level 3 on the field that relies almost exclusively on radio communications. For these scenarios, TELTRONIC provides present and future communication solutions compliant with EIRENE specifications focused on the communication system.

• For long-haul distance trains or freight and mining trains, Positive Train Control (PTC) is used. This is an advanced system designed to automatically stop a train before certain accidents occur. It uses communication-based train control technology that provides a system capable of reliably and functionally preventing train-to-train collisions, overspeed derailments and incursions into established work zone limits. In this case, TELTRONIC provides communication solutions already integrated with the main PTC integrators.

• For Mass Transit environments, like metros or even other scenarios like Automatic People Movers (APM), Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) is used and incorporates automatic train protection (ATP) systems. The data transmitted by the train protection systems may rely on TELTRONIC broadband solutions to take advantage in the near future of the incorporation of new services into a single network.

One of the key needs in new transportation systems is the capability of having real-time video to make critical decisions from the Control Centre remotely as operators have an accurate control of the situation: detect objects left on the tracks, visualize on-board intercoms, watch access controls, etc. Real time video from platforms, stations and rolling stock run over TELTRONIC LTE mission critical radio solutions to ensure safety of passengers and freights in the rail operation. These solutions are integrated with the critical voice communications running over TETRA, thus, complementing the system and increasing drastically the security. At the same time, both radio and video systems optimize operational and maintenance tasks in the transportation infrastructures by saving time and costs related to the troubleshooting on field. TELTRONIC can provide customers with integrated video solutions by several means: • Integration with external CCTV platforms within operator applications of

CeCoCo Series, TELTRONIC Command & Control Room solution. From the operator workstation it will be possible to display video images from both ground cameras in stations and platforms, as well as mobile video from devices and trains.

• Providing a local application for RCC-3000 railway control console for displaying ground and on-board images enabling real-time and event-based video.
