◦ 2. Create a process that quickly responds to student needs with a focus on improving student outcomes.
Educational Role PlayersIn every level of education, there are several role players that impact student learning and performance◦ K-12
◦ Counselors, parents, students, administrators, tutors
◦ Higher Ed
◦ Professional Ed◦ Academic advisors, assessment specialists
Current Grade/Information SharingHow do these important players currently get the information they need on student performance?
◦ Paper (it still exists…I know, I was shocked too)
◦ Meetings/Word of mouth
◦ Wait for grades to be posted in your LMS
◦ Students
◦ Is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) considered in this process?
◦ This is all dependent on others appropriately communicating with us.
Timing Matters!Timely feedback and remediation are important!◦ Getting the information to the appropriate individuals in a fast and secure method is key

◦ Are there learning/performance issues? Fix them now! Don’t wait until it is too late…

◦ All users are given access to specific folders in ExamSoft◦ Set folder permissions to allow use of this to your advantage in streamlining communication!
◦ Student scores and category reports can be accessed immediately and securely after assessments
◦ What are category reports?
◦ Why is this vital information?
Immediate Results for Students/Parents◦ “Release Exam Taker Results”
◦ Students AND parents can access scores through a secure login
◦ They can receive category reports too!
Why is this vital information?
So What?More information + immediate feedback = greater opportunity to impact student performance (i.e. Improve Student Outcomes)
A look back at the role players:◦ Students are immediately self-aware of their performance
◦ Increases responsibility
◦ Parents are kept in the know! (Sorry, kiddos – they’re going to know your scores before you have time to hide them or make up an excuse)
◦ Administrators can monitor student performance throughout the school/curriculum

◦ No need to email counselors, administrators, academic advisors, etc. about student performance
