About this book
This book is written by
Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
This book is about our Streamline Basic
Account and low cost banking.
Our Streamline Basic Account is an everyday
bank account with low fees for people with a
● Commonwealth Seniors Health card
or
● Pensioner Concession card
or
● Health Care card.

What makes the account low cost?
The Streamline Basic Account is low cost
because there are no monthly fees.
It is free to take out money at CommBank or
Bankwest ATMs.
There are no fees if you overdraw.
Overdraw means you make a mistake and use
more money than you have in the account.
We will not charge a fee if you overdraw
by mistake.
At least 1 of your government payments must
go in your Streamline Basic Account.
For example, your pension.

How can you use the account?
You can
● do banking online or at a Commonwealth
Bank branch
● use BPAY®
BPAY means you choose who to pay and how
much to send each time.
● Set up direct debits.
Direct debit means money comes straight out
of your account when your bill or payment
is due.

You can also get a Debit Mastercard.
A Debit Mastercard is a card you use to
pay with your own money
– in stores
– on the internet
– over the phone
– overseas.

What you cannot do with the account
You cannot
● use cheque books
● spend more money than you have in
the account.

Try our Benefits Finder
The Benefits Finder will check if you can get
help to save money.
There are everyday things you might be able
to pay less for.
For example
● doctor visits
● your child’s school activities.
Use the Benefits Finder on the
CommBank app.
