Training Module
Introduction:
The Common Foundation Course is being conducted by ATI, Mysore for
newly recruited Sate Civil Service officers. Training of public officers is very
important as it is directly linked to their performance and in term of public
service delivery system.
At present Common Foundation Course (CFC) is the only compulsory training
for all categories of Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ officers of Government of Karnataka. The
course which was earlier for eight weeks has been now reduced to six weeks. The
CFC is designed to help the officers in developing an understanding of
functioning of state government. It helps them to appreciate issues of
governance. As officers from different departments join together for this training
it helps to develop familiarity with each other which goes a long way in forging
relationships.
Aim:-
Common Foundation Course aims at providing opportunities for
self-empowerment and growth of an officer and to enhance effectiveness at
work.
Objectives:-
· Help the officers to understand the social, economic, political, geographical
and cultural history of Karnataka;
· Help them to understand and appreciate the basic tenant of Constitution
of India and various laws in their day to day administration;
· Develop qualities of Good Public Servants.
· Explain the concept of Governance, decentralization, Panchayat Raj, &
Urban development;
· Explaining various Rules & Financial procedures in administration;
· Help them to discover his/her own attitudes and develop insights on
others’ attitude and their impact;
· Acquire the skills of working in coordination, develop leadership & be
innovative in achieving the tasks;
· To apply the knowledge and skills of computer applications in
administration;

At the end of the training trainee will be able to
