Hovnanian's Four Seasons at Palm Springs Community Association 3800 Four Seasons Boulevard Palm Springs CA 92262 760‐323‐3008 Annual Membership Meeting and Board Election The Community's Annual Membership Meeting and Board Election will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 12:00 noon in The Lodge Ballroom. It is very important that a quorum be established at the Annual meeting. A quorum can be established at the Annual Meeting by your presence in person, by proxy, or by completion of your ballot. In the event quorum is not met, a reconvened Annual Meeting will take place at considerable expense to the Association. Therefore, please mail or hand deliver your completed ballot to The Lodge as soon as possible. You may also bring it with you on the day of the Annual Meeting.  As a reminder, every household owner has 2 votes and they can both be cast for the same candidate or split between the candidates. Write‐Ins are allowed. Also, you may vote for quorum purposes only. Make sure to sign the green envelope where indicated or your vote will not be counted.  Remind your neighbors to vote as well. Reminder Holiday decorations need to be taken down by January 31, 2012.

Theclub will be for all levels ofplay so don’t be shy.If you have a regulationChess set, please bring italong to the class/meeting.You may sign up at theLodge or just drop in thatday.

WHITE ELEPHANT BINGODon’t forget! White Elephant Bingo is on January 20, 2012 at 7:00pm. Bring a wrapped gift (the funnier, the better) that you don’twant or need, and we will play as many games as we have gifts. Theusual $5 fee for playing doesn’t apply for this evening’s fun andentertainment. Our games last year brought lots of guffaws andlaughs. This is an unforgettable event that draws many residentsevery year!

THE FALA COMMITTEE NEEDSYOUR INPUTThe Ad Hoc Facilities/ Access/Landscaping Assessment Committeehas received a number of second‐hand hearsay reports of individualsentering the Community byclimbing over the wrought ironfence along the walking trail.The Committee has investigateddifferent modifications to hopefullyavert these types of breaches intoour Community.

In order to justify the expenditureof a substantial amount for thesemodifications, the Committeeneeds documentation to present tothe Board.If you observe anyone entering theCommunity over the fence, pleasecall 911 immediately. TheCommittee is requesting that youthen fill out an incident report atthe Lodge documenting theintrusion. This information willprovide the basis for Board action.Thank you for your assistance inthis regard.

Springs in 2004 brought Josh toJayne Behman's Art Academywhere he first studiedwatercolor with MoiraJohannessen. A move back toNYC for 4 years took Josh to The92nd Street Y where he pursuedsculpture and watercolor.Now back in Palm Springs fulltime, living here at the K.Hovnanian Four Seasons, Joshcontinues to paint and sculptand hopes to see other artists inthe activities room or aroundtown at the great studios andgalleries.Josh's collection of paintings andsculptures are available forviewing during the month ofJanuary in The Lodge or byappointment. PUT YOUR CAR KEYS BESIDE YOUR BED AT NIGHTIf you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get inyour house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm willbe set off. Also useful for medical or other emergencies.It's a security alarm system that you probably already have andrequires no installation. It works if you park in your driveway orgarage.And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in aparking lot. The alarm can work the same way there.

Red raspberry jellyCornstarchCointreauWater

Position rack in center of ovenand preheat to 350º F. Lightlybutter 9 or 10 inch spring formpan.For crust:Combine walnuts, grahamcracker crumbs and butter.Press compactly onto bottom ofpan.For filling:Beat cream cheese in largebowl of electric mixer untilsmooth. Add eggs, sugar, lemonjuice and vanilla and beatthoroughly. Spoon over crust.Set pan on baking sheet to

catch any butter that may dripout. Bake 10‐inch cake 40 to 45minutes or 9‐inch cake 50 to 55minutes. (Cake may rise slightlyand crack in several areas; itwill settle again, cracks willminimize and topping will coverit up.) Remove from oven andlet stand at room temperature15 minutes. Retain overtemperature at 350º F.For topping:Combine sour cream, sugar, andvanilla and blend well. Coverand refrigerate. When cake hasfinished baking, spoon toppingover, starting at center, andextending to within 1/2 inch of

edge. Return to oven and bake5 minutes longer. Let cool,then refrigerate cheesecakefor at least 24 hours orpreferably 2 to 3 days.For glaze:Several hours before serving,wash and hull berries and letdry completely on papertowels. Combine a little jellywith cornstarch in saucepanand mix well. Add remainingjelly, Cointreau and water andcook over medium heat,stirring frequently, untilthickened and clear, about 5minutes. Cool to lukewarm,stirring occasionally.Using knife, loosen cake frompan; remove spring form.Arrange berries pointed endup over top of cake. Spoonglaze over berries, allowingsome to drip down sides ofcake. Return to refrigeratoruntil glaze is set.
