Public Information Session:Survey Results

• Committee should rely on the results of this report as one piece of information, and not solely.• Feedback is not evenly distributed per community.• It is most important to provide recommendation on the

scenario/s that you feel best meets our objectives and criteria.

• Focus on what is best for all students in the region, and not only one student, neighborhood, or school.

• Remember that everything is considered DRAFT!

• Nothing is written in stone• Existing DRAFT Options are subject to change• Options can still be modified

• Focus tonight is to narrow down to 2 options, which leaves 2 scenarios for the final meeting.

Updates since last meeting:1. Planning block cuts have been made per committee suggestions

a) Planning block cut made down centerline of Central Ave. in the West Elementary attendance area (cut made prior to Public Information Session).

2. Committee member requested live-in counts, which have been included in handout. Keep in mind that the focus are the color-coded tables showing estimated enrollment, which accounts for permissive transfers

3. Option D has been created as a result of input from the committee and public.a) Option D keeps Black Eagle community (and northern Sacajawea area) north of the river, and sends

them to Valley View.b) Could not send Black Eagle to Sacajawea or Riverview because it would move walkers out of the

schools, and requiring more bussing.c) In order to balance utilization, area between West and Valley View have been adjusted.d) Community in West Elementary (west of the river) were moved into Longfellow ES to balance school

utilization. Distance to West vs. Longfellow is comparable.e) Morningside utilization is lower in this option, but anticipated enrollment is still around 250 students.

4. Online map now reflects all planning block adjustments and new options.
