Renowned designers, top models and fashionistas from around the world: the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin is one of the leading events in the fashion calendar – and since 2008, inconceivable without space solutions from Losberger De Boer.

A 155 metres long, two-storey fashion tent helped turn the Straße des 17. Juni into an impressive catwalk. Erected in the middle of one of the metropolis’ main traffic arteries, a 3,400 m² space for the zeitgeist of fashion was set up and subsequently dismantled within the space of just a few days in a timely manner without a hitch.

The industry event venue was in no way inferior in terms of its elegance and aesthetics. Indeed, spacious presentation areas, high-quality interiors, unique colours andlighting, transparent wall elements, opaque façades and a gallery created the perfect ambience for the leading international designers’ shows. After the event, the organiser not only highlighted the uncomplicated, timely set-up and dismantling, but also made specific reference to the “highlights in tent construction” and how it had received “extensive praise for the set-up from a great many international colleagues and partners”.

At first, it was just an idea: Canadian singer and entertainer Gregory Charles envisioned a unique mobile music theatre with 1,000 seats and a large show stage – the “Vintage Theatre” – for his interactive “Vintage” show. His manager subsequently approached Losberger De Boer for advice.

The spacious Palas event hall featuring elegant cubicarchitecture proved the perfect solution. Despite itslength of 55 metres, impressive side height of 8 metres,2.5 metres high all-round balcony and two staircases,it can be set up and dismantled anywhere in the spaceof just a few days. Losberger De Boer was also able to fulfil the artist’s special request for the façade: vertical black panelled PVC walls elegantly complement the horizontal glass elements.

After a construction period of just ten days, the tent was ready: “Vintage” celebrated its world première on the Jacques Cartier Pier in Montreal’s Old Port. The first of many unique shows all around the world.

More lasers, more output: Losberger De Boer.

Welding, cutting, layering, tempering, inscribing and dismantling: the applications of tool lasers have multiplied in recent years. It perhaps therefore does not come as a surprise that a laser cutting machine manufacturer like Trumpf requires new production, assembly and storage capabilities quickly.

Against this backdrop, Losberger De Boer and SCD architecture firm were commissioned to design and construct a 70 metres long, two-bay steel hall for the assembly, testing, order picking and packing of laser cutting machines. Additional roof loads had to be taken into consideration flexibly, as did an awning extending 6 metres over the entire width of the hall for the loading and unloading of lorries in all weathers.

The construction time was naturally also critical. So how long did it actually take? Just ten weeks from the start of construction to the set-up of employees’ workstations!

How can you rapidly create attractive and at the sametime flexible offices and useable space? After alreadyhaving extended its storage and order picking capacitieswith the construction of two COMPACT halls, ship chandler Amaro commissioned Losberger De Boer’s subsidiary Losberger Modular Systems to construct a new administrative building meeting the highest quality and aesthetic requirements.

In less than five weeks, five offices of different sizes, ameeting room with adjoining kitchen, a utility room andentirely tiled sanitary facilities were set up in a timelymanner on 270 m² using 15 room modules. Inside, anair heat pump ensures consistent pleasant room temperatures. A fish pond in the entrance area in front of the building completes the high-quality overall look.

And what’s so special about this representative space solution? The single-storey building can be extended by up to a further two floors, thus enabling the rapidlygrowing company to react to future space requirementsat short notice.

100 % commitment in the toughest conditions: Losberger De Boer.

Gao in Mali: as part of its peace mission for political stabilisation of the West African state, the United Nations had to set up a 100-man camp in the shortest of times that would serve as accommodation and administrative headquarters in the field for the UN workers and their visitors. Losberger De Boer was rapidly identified as the ideal partner for the tents and their set-up.

In temperatures of up to 48 °C, windy and dusty conditions and with the according time pressure, inflatable tents were the best solution. They are easy to transport, can be set up particularly quickly and offer reliable protection from the heat and dust. Losberger De Boer also contributed four generators to supply power at the camp and supported the aid mission in the field with its own team of specialists.

Losberger De Boer fulfilled the promise of a rapid and smooth set up. The feedback on the construction of the camp in the final mission report: with its technology and the competent implementation team, Losberger De Boer contributed decisively to the project’s success.
