PROGRAM INFORMATIONCommercial Refrigeration is NTC’s newest academic program. It was created in direct response to industry feedback about the shortage of skilled employees in a field ranked as a five-star, in-demand career by the State of Minnesota. Our Commercial Refrigeration students learn electrical theory, advanced electronics and motor controls along with specialized coursework that explores commercial refrigeration systems and equipment. At NTC, more than 40 percent of your instructional time will be spent in hands-on training and field environments.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTSCOMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION: This 60-credit diploma is offered as a four-semester program and requires no previous coursework in commercial refrigeration or HVAC systems.
Commercial refrigeration applicants must:
• Apply & be accepted to Northwest Technical College:o complete application & pay application feeo provide all academic transcripts (high school and/or
previous college or university)
• Take or receive a waiver for the Accuplacer test.
• If required, complete college readiness courses. Studentsmay be required to enroll in college readiness courses in reading, writing, and/or mathematics. Enrollment in readiness courses is determined by Accuplacer test scores.
