The German states, Northrhine Westphalia, Hesse, Rhineland Palatinate and Saarland fall under the jurisdiction of the Indian Consulate in Frankfurt. With best regards, Pratibha Parkar Significant Economic Trends between India & the four German States under the jurisdiction of Consulate General of India Frankfurt The month of August saw a positive growth in terms of bilateral trade between India and Germany. The total volume of trade between India and Germany stood at €10,697,298 million in the period of January to June, as compared to €10,233,524 million in the same period in 2018.The percentage increase of Indian exports to Germany during this period increased by 8.10 % and the Indian Imports from Germany increased by 1.72%. The bilateral trade between India and the four German states falling under the jurisdiction of this mission, in the period January to June 2019 was significantly higher as compared to the corresponding month in 2018.The total trade in the four German states in the month of January to June 2019 is €2,057,582 million while that in same period in 2018 is €1,842,823 million.The total bilateral trade between North Rhine-Westphalia and India witnessed a decrease of -1,14% and stood at € 2.386,38million. The total bilateral trade between Hesse and India increased by 6.37 % and stood at € 685,12million. The total bilateral trade between Rhineland-Palatinate and India increased by 32,89% and stood at € 642,73million. The total bilateral trade between Saarland and India, recorded an increase of 0,78% in the period of January to June 2019 as compared to the same period in 2018 and remained at € 122,39million. The four states falling under the jurisdiction of CGI accounted for around 35.86 % of total Indo-German trade in the period from January-June 2019 with the state of NRW being the one with the highest trade volume among all 16 German states. Significant Economic Trends between India & the four German States under the jurisdiction of Consulate General of India Frankfurt

The month of August saw a positive growth in terms of bilateral trade between India and Germany. Growth of German Economy : Harmonized consumer price fell 0.1% month-on-month in August, contrasting the 0.4% rise in July. The drop in the price level came on the back of cheaper furnishings and household equipment; transport; communication; and education. Meanwhile, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose less strongly. Harmonized inflation edged down to 1.0% in August from 1.1% in July, while average harmonized inflation inched down from 1.8% in July to 1.7% in August. Lastly, consumer price inflation fell to 1.4% in August from 1.7% in the prior month and annual average consumer price inflation was stable at 1.7% for the third month running It is expected to see a harmonized inflation to average 1.5% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2020, a harmonized inflation averaging 1.6%, is expected which is also unchanged from last month.
