GROUP SWIM LESSONS

ENROLLMENT: Min: 4 Max: Per Level
Registration: Don’t over estimate your child’s swimming
abilities. It is easier to move your child into a higher level if
necessary. Advanced registration is required for swimming
lessons & space is limited so sign up early. What to Bring:
Children 3 & under must wear swim diaper. Bring your own
towel. Showers: Must shower before going into the water.
Swim Lessons

the first class
Entering and exiting the water, blowing bubbles, retrieve submerged objects, bobbing, floating
and gliding, tread water, leg and arm action front and back, combined leg and arm action, and
water safety.
Level 2

Prerequisite: Successfully
complete Level 1
Independently float, glide. Perform previous skills for longer lengths of time or longer distances;
explore deeper water; and prepare to safely participate in aquatic activities; learn how to
recognize emergencies, call for help, and safely respond once help is on the way.
Level 3

complete Level 2
Perform previous skills for longer lengths of time or longer distances; introduction to the Front
Crawl, Elementary Backstroke, and Head First Entries; develop water competency; safely swim
underwater, and choose where/when to exit the water.

complete Level 3
Perform previous skills with greater proficiency and build endurance; introduction to the back
crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly, and turning at the wall; practice using equipment in an
emergency; and experience survival floating.

Perform previous skills with greater proficiency and build endurance; introduction to flip turns on
front and back; perform a long shallow dive, surface, and begin swimming.

LIFEGUARD RECERTIFICATION
PREREQUISITE: Must hold current lifeguard certificate. Cannot be
expired longer than 30 days.

ENROLLMENT: Min: 2 Max: 10
Lifeguard at Sunset Pool next summer! This one day recertification
course is for any person already lifeguard certified in need of
recertification. Recertification is good for two years and updates to
the 2017 version of the lifeguard program. If current lifeguard
certification is expired, can not be expired for more than 30 days,
otherwise the full lifeguard certification must be retaken.

The Safe Sitter course is a one-day

lunch, and there will be breaks throughout the day.
