PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hi Everyone,
First off, I'd like to thank all of our trail bosses and volunteers who dedicate their time to make
our rides/events a success. Thank you to Tiffanie Bailey and Paul Anderson for leading a fun
moonlight ride to the Hideaway! Billie McGuire organized an epic Mulligan Stew Ride at
Mojave Narrows Preserve...thank you Billie! Paul Jacques led us through the scenic trails of
malibu canyon and back to the rigs where Craig Tognazzini had a feast ready for us! Thank you
Patty for taking in reservations and coordinating the camping spots for Morro Bay. We still
have several rides/events so please make the extra effort to attend as many rides as possible
before year’s end.
September 9th is our ride at Santa Rosa Valley led by Paul Jacques. Please let Paul know if you
will be joining the ride.
September 20th is our General Meeting, which is held at Mi Casitas. We need a nominating
committee for elections that will be held on November 15th.
September 23rd is our Challenger Park Ride in Simi Valley! This will be a 3 hour ride with
moderate hills and beautiful views. Tom Smart will lead the ride. Please RSVP to Kat.
October 5-7th is our camp out at Lone Pine (Alabama Hills) with the San Fernando
Rangers. Get your reservations in NOW because it's filling up fast (flyer attached)!
Supervisor Barger's annual ride will be on October 21st at Frank G. Bonelli park (flyer to
follow).
October 26-28th is our camp out at Sage Hill. Please RSVP to Paul Jacques.
Our Le Chene Ride in November has been cancelled. ETI Corral 86 has invited us to join them
on their pancake ride on Saturday, November 10th 1/2 mile from Le Chene (flyer to follow).
We will be setting up a date for a Trail Plan Meeting in October. The meeting will be in Simi
Valley unless someone else would like to volunteer their home. Dinner and drinks are provided
by the C22.
Happy Trails!

Horsin’ Around
2018 Moonlight Ride
What better way to celebrate the National Day of the Cowboy than a moonlight ride to the
Hideaway! The heat cooled off and 14 riders (all couples!) set out for a 2.5 hour ride through
Kagel Canyon. We parked our mounts then headed into the Hideaway for drinks and Guido’s
pizza! Tom and I sported our horse tail and breast collar lights, which was nice to look at over
dinner. Those of us that spent the night at Ranger Park woke up to breakfast by Craig. We had a
spread of linguica (Portuguese sausage), eggs, and potatoes…thank you Craig! A special thank
you to Allan Johnson for letting us camp at Ranger Park and joining us on the ride.

Horsin’ Around
2018 Morro Bay Ride
Corrals 12 & 22 had a great time at the annual Morro Bay ride. We had riders from as far away as
Texas and Arizona join us. We enjoyed several scenic rides. It was so nice to get a break from the
inland summer heat. I know my horse enjoyed the cooler weather as much as I did. Friday and
Saturday we enjoyed awesome pot luck dinners. Some dishes prepared in Dutch ovens. Many thanks
to Patty Hug for coordinating this event! -Billie McGuire
